Configure SIM Library
- Open a SIM Pricing Template library.
- In the SIM Library Configurations section, select open menu button and then select New.
The SIM Library Configuration Maintenance window opens.
- In the SIM Library Configuration Name field, enter a name for the configuration.
- Select Open Folder to select the SIM libraries you want to apply the configuration to Include/Exclude steps.
- If you want the SIM Library Configuration to be included in the SIM Pricing Template BBP - Auto Update job in the NextGen BBP application, select the Send to BBP check box.
- If you want the update to insert new service items to a library when they do not currently exist, select the Add items from SIM Pricing Template to SIM libraries if they do not exist check box. New rows will be added.
- If the check box is cleared, existing service items will be updated and no new items will be added.
- In the Filter Criteria section, enter attributes that limit which SIMs that File Maintenance updates. All SIMs that meet the requirements will be updated.
- If necessary, enter the range of SIM and CPT4 codes you want to apply the update to. If you leave the SIM and CPT4 code fields blank, the update applies to all SIMs listed in the SIM Pricing Template.
- If necessary, select the Department that must be selected for the SIMs.
- In the Effective Date field, enter the date that an existing SIM must be valid. If this date falls within the effective date range of any SIMs, those SIMs will be updated. File Maintenance ignores this date if it must create a new row to add an item.
- Specify how you want the effective price to be handled by selecting either:
- Create New Effective SIM Price to create a new row
- Update Existing Effective SIM Price option to update an existing row
- In the New Price Properties section, specify the pricing attributes to apply to all SIMs during the update.
- Enter the new Effective Date.
- If necessary, enter a new Expiration Date.
- Select a rounding method in the Rounding Option field.
- Set the prices you want to update.
- In each applicable row, select the cell in the Update column. A displays to indicate that the price will be updated.
- Enter a number in the Percentage column. The price in the template will be multiplied by the percentage and the result becomes the new price in the SIM library.
- If there are SIMs that fall within the Filter Criteria range that you want to update differently, then in the Make exceptions for the following SIM ranges section, select open menu button and then select New.
The SIM Library Configuration Maintenance - SIM Range Exceptions window opens.
- In the SIM From and SIM Through fields, enter the range of SIMs for the exception. If you want to enter only one SIM, enter the same SIM code in both fields.
- Set the prices you want to update. In each applicable row, select the cell in the Update column. A displays, and then enter a number in the Percentage column. The price in the template will be multiplied by the percentage and the result becomes the new price in the SIM library.
- Select OK to return to the SIM Library Configuration Maintenance window.
- To start the update, select the Launch SIM Library Update button.
Note: The button becomes unavailable if the Send to BBP check box is selected.
- To see a snapshot of the current SIM data targeted for update along with what the data will be after the update is run, select the Report button. The Advanced SIM Library Update report displays.
You can use the report as a tool to ensure the accuracy of configuration data before you run a pricing template update, as well as an audit report of the data that was updated after the update is executed.
- Select OK.
The configuration is added to the SIM Library Configurations list on the SIM Pricing Template window.
