Set Up a SIM Pricing Region

The SIM Pricing Regions library enables you to set prices based on geographical regions that vary by payer. The library contains a group of pricing regions, the Service Item library for each pricing region, and the specific locations that belong to each pricing region. Open File Maintenance and select Libraries > SIM Pricing Region. The Pricing Regions Library List window opens. Select the open menu button and then select New. The Add pricing Regions Library window opens. Enter a library name, and then from the open menu button, select New. Note: You can modify an existing region by selecting it from the list and making the required changes. The Add pricing Region window opens. Enter a name in the Pricing Region Description field, and then select a SIM library to use for the pricing region. Select open menu button and then select New. The Add Pricing Region Location window opens. Select a location, enter the effective and expiration dates, and then select OK. Note: You cannot attach th

Set Up SIM Pricing Template Library

The library is a template of service item pricing information that you define and then copy to multiple service item libraries at the same time. You should use SIM pricing templates if you have a lot of Service Item libraries that need to be updated. Open File Maintenance and select Libraries > SIM Pricing Template. The SIM Pricing Template List window opens. Select the open menu button, and then select New. The SIM Pricing Template window opens. Note: You can double-click an existing SIM pricing template to modify the values. Enter a name in the SIM Pricing Template Name field. Enter values in all the fields. Select the open menu button under SIM Library Configurations to configure the SIM library and link the SIM pricing templates to the SIM libraries. Note: After the configurations have been set up, a green check mark appears in the SIM Library Configuration section in the BBP column that indicates that the configuration will be included in the SIM Pricing Template - Auto Update BBP

Setup SIM Pricing Template Library

In the Libraries list, select SIM Pricing Template. The SIM Pricing Template List window opens. Select open menu button , and then select New. The SIM Pricing Template window opens. Enter a name in the SIM Pricing Template Name field. Complete the remaining fields. For more information on the field descriptions, see SIM Pricing Template Library Field Descriptions. Set the SIM Library Configurations that link the SIM Pricing Templates to the SIM Libraries. Note: After configurations have been set up, a green check mark in the SIM Library Configuration section > BBP column indicates that the configuration will be included in the SIM Pricing Template - Auto Update BBP job. Instead of opening an existing configuration to designate it to be sent to BBP, you can select the BBP column for the row in the SIM Library Configuration section or you can right-click the configuration, and then select BBP. Configure SIM Library

Open a SIM Pricing Template library. In the SIM Library Configurations section, select open menu button and then select New. The SIM Library Configuration Maintenance window opens. In the SIM Library Configuration Name field, enter a name for the configuration. Select Open Folder to select the SIM libraries you want to apply the configuration to Include/Exclude steps. If you want the SIM Library Configuration to be included in the SIM Pricing Template BBP - Auto Update job in the NextGen BBP application, select the Send to BBP check box. If you want the update to insert new service items to a library when they do not currently exist, select the Add items from SIM Pricing Template to SIM libraries if they do not exist check box. New rows will be added. If the check box is cleared, existing service items will be updated and no new items will be added. In the Filter Criteria section, enter attributes that limit which SIMs that File Maintenance updates. All SIMs that meet the requirements

Updating SIM Libraries with NextGen BBP

The Send to BBP check box on the SIM Library Configuration Maintenance window tells the system to use the SIM Pricing Template-Auto Update job in NextGen BBP to perform the SIM Library update with the configuration. After the BBP job has completed the SIM Library Update, the application clears the Send to BBP setting. An alternative way to select the Send to BBP check box is to select open menu button located next the SIM Library Configurations box and select the BBP option. When the Send to BBP check box has been selected for a SIM Library Configuration, the application displays a green check mark in the BBP column of the SIM Library Configurations box. After the SIM Pricing Template BBP job has completed the SIM Library Update, the application removes the green check(s) from the BBP column. If you want to de-select the Send to BBP option for a SIM Library Configuration, select on the green check mark in the BBP column and then select Yes when the application asks if you want to unche

SIM Library Configurations

SIM library configurations link SIM Pricing Templates to SIM Libraries. You can use the configurations to update SIM Libraries. The configuration settings contain the rules for transferring the pricing information to the SIM libraries. They tell the system: which Service Item Libraries to affect and by what percentage. which fields to update. For example, a parent SIM Pricing Template library is set up specifically for Unassigned Benefit Prices. The settings would be configured to only update the price for the Unassigned Benefit Price in the child SIM library. how to perform the updates: Update the existing row in the SIM. Add a new row in the SIM and expire the old row. Apply other configurable settings that are based on utilities in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
