Diagnosis Categories

The Diagnosis Categories master file enables you to group diagnosis codes into a category that you define. The categories provide flexibility by allowing: Administrators to restrict which practices have access to the diagnosis categories. Administrators to specify that a diagnosis category is only for use by NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, or both. Administrators to associate a provider with one or more diagnosis categories in the Categories tab of the Providers master file. Grouping Medications By Payer, Problem and Practice

The Medication Tasks master file enables you to group all medications in the database by payer, by a problem's diagnosis, and by a practice interface Medications grouped by: Payer allows you to efficiently search for medications in NextGen® Enterprise EHR by a payer name. Problem enables you to efficiently search for medications in NextGen® Enterprise EHR by a diagnosis. The diagnoses are set up in the ICD9CM master file. The Medications By Problem master file is user-defined. Practice interface provides a list of the medications that the practice's internal pharmacy provides. It is not an inventory list. You can add and remove medications to the list. The medications display when you elect to send electronic prescriptions to a pharmacy interface in the new Medication Module. The medications are automatically sent to the default pharmacy interface that you set in the Medication Practice Preferences. Modify Medications

You can view medication information and, if necessary, modify it for company-specific and provider-specific medications. From the Master Files - System list, select Medication Tasks. The Medications Task window opens. Under Medications Tasks, select Medications. The Manage Medication Defaults window opens. In the Search for Medication field, enter the medication name, and then select Search. The search results appear in the list. Select a medication in the list. The medication details appear. Group Medications By Payer, Problem, and Practice Interface

From the Master Files - System list, select Medication Tasks. The Medications Task window opens. Under Medications Tasks, select Medications By Payer, Medications By Problem, or Medications By Practice Interface. The Manage Medications By Payer/Problem/Practice Interface window opens. In the Search for Item field, depending on what you selected in the previous step, type the beginning of the name or the whole name of the payer, problem, or practice interface. Select Search. The Results list displays the items that match what you typed. In the Results list, select a problem. In the Search for Medication field, type the beginning of medication name, and then select Search. The Med Search Results list displays the medications that match what you typed. To add a medication, select the medication in the Med Search Results list, and then use the arrows to move it to the Medication List. Add User-Defined Medications

You can add additional medications to the list of company-specific and provider-specific medications. You can add a user-defined medication only if it does not already exist in your database. CAUTION: If you add a user-defined medication, you cannot delete it. To add a user-defined medication, do the following: From the Master Files - System list, select Medication Tasks.
