Imaging Cache Path

The Cache Path is an additional storage location that you can set for documents and images maintained by the NextGen® Document Management application. You can use the Cache Path even if you are not licensed for remote scanning. When a Cache Path is set and you acquire an image for the first time that day, a new folder is created in the Cache Path and a page of the image is added to the folder. As you navigate through additional images, new files are added to the Cache Path folder. The items in the Cache Path stay in that folder. They are not moved to another location by the Remote Scanning Network Service. This improves the speed of performance if the cache path exists on the same network as the providers/users who are accessing NextGen® Document Management images.

Before you can assign a network folder to serve as the Cache Path, the folder must be identified as a storage location in NextGen® Document Management.
