Imaging Archive Path

The Archive Path is the permanent storage location for all documents and images maintained by the NextGen® Document Management application. It differs from the Network Share Location in that it functions at the practice level rather than the enterprise level. The Archive Path replaces the Network Share Location when you activate remote scanning.

When you use remote scanning, all images scanned at a remote location are moved at regular intervals by the Remote Scanning Network Service from that location's temporary storage folder to the Archive Path.

The Archive Path must be:

• located at the main site of the practice.
• accessible on the network to and from all remote storage locations.
• set up before NextGen® Document Management can save images to network storage locations. The application displays error message if the Archive Path has not been set up.
