Working with the Report Display

When you initially run a report, the report displays the data for viewing purposes only; the display is not an accurate preview of how the report will print. The display enables you to: View the actual report data. Manipulate the data's source by drilling down see, Drilling Down to Show Report Details. Adjust the report column sizes. You can also use the Page Up and Page Down keys on your keyboard to view the previous and next pages. To view the report, select Preview Report on the Report toolbar. Export Reports

Display the report you want to export. Slect one of the following icons for the format you want to use: to export to Excel to export to ASCII to export to HTML The Export Data to window opens. In the Save in field, select the drive and directory you want to save the file to. Type the file name for the report. The extension automatically appends to the file name. Select Save. Graph a Report

After generating a report, you can graph the report to see the report data in a graphical format. Select the Graph Report button on the Report toolbar. The report graph window opens. In the Select row for the graph field, from the drop-down list, select one of the rows from your report to use as your X axis. In the Select column for the graph field, from the drop-down list, select one of the columns from your report to use as your Y axis. Select Graph. A graph of the report appears. At this point, you can do one of the following:you can select from the two toolbar buttons that display on the graph window: Print or Exit. You can select Print or Exit. Reports in File Maintenance

File Maintenance has three kinds of reports that are available from the main menu: List reports: Reports you can generate from an open list, for example, from an item in the Payer List for the Payer master file. Memorized reports: Generic system reports that you have customized. If you want to save a customized report, you can have the application "memorize" it. Memorizing a report spares you from having to apply the same modifications each time you run the report. Memorizing a report only saves the parameters of the report, not the actual data. System generated reports: Pre-configured reports that provide information on specific areas. Group Listing report: Lists all user groups from the System Administrator and what permissions each group has. User Listing report: Lists all the users for each enterprise and practice. Formatting a Report Graph

After you convert your report data into a graph, you can format the graph using the shortcut menu. Note: Each time you generate a report, the toolbar appears. That does not mean that you can create a graph for every report. Some reports are not compatible for graphing. The selections available on the Graph Formatting shortcut menu are: Menu Choice Description Chart Designer Using the Chart Designer, you can format everything from the source of chart (pie, bar, etc.) to the labels and pictures you want included. Edit Chart Data Selecting Editing Chart Data displays the Edit Chart Data window so that you can edit the number totals that are affecting your graph.
