Export Reports

Display the report you want to export. Slect one of the following icons for the format you want to use: to export to Excel to export to ASCII to export to HTML The Export Data to window opens. In the Save in field, select the drive and directory you want to save the file to. Type the file name for the report. The extension automatically appends to the file name. Select Save. Exporting Reports

To take advantage of the additional features of other software applications, you can export reports to different file formats. For example, with the format in: Excel: You can manipulate the data and save it as a chart or graph. Microsoft® Excel is a popular option for graphing because you cannot save a graphed report in the report Chart Designer or Wizard. HTML: You can distribute report data so that any recipient with an Internet browser can open and review the data. An ASCII file: The report data imported into it contains the raw, unformatted data of the report. You can then import this raw data into numerous other applications for manipulation and formatting. Note: Some of the formatting can change after a report is exported to Excel or HTML. You might have to adjust the columns if they are too narrow in the exported file. Export Log Files

You can export a log file or the results of a log file search to a comma-separated values (CSV) file, text file, or Microsoft Excel® file (if installed). If you want to export only selected records from the log file, then perform a search. Log Search Results In either the pane or Search Results pane, do the following: To save the data to a CSV file, select Export to CSV File. To save the data as a text file, select Export to Text File. To save the data to a Microsoft Excel® file, select Export to Excel File. This button appears only if Excel®is installed on your workstation. The Save DSM Log to <file type> File window opens. When prompted, browse to the location where you want to store the file. If needed, enter a file name.By default, the file name includes the date and time (YYYYMMDDHHMMSSSSS) and a .csv, .txt, or .xls file extension. View Exceptions in Log Files

If any exceptions occur within the Auto Release Utility Windows Service while the instances are running, the exceptions are recorded in the log files. You can also view the tracing information such as a specific line is executed or a specific instance request is collected from the user interface. If there are any exceptions to report to NextGen, the System Administrator can take the log files from the Log Viewer window, and provide them to the NextGen team to evaluate the error details. Open NextGen Practice Management. Select Help > About. The PM window opens. PM Window On the PM window, select All SQL Log. The Log Viewer window opens. On the Log Viewer window, select Archived Logs icon. The Select Log File window opens. Open the NextGen\LogFiles, select OrdersAutoReleaseModuleLog.log file, and then select Open. Data Share Module Log Files

The the Data Share module maintains a log of related events and archives the log file whenever the file size reaches 2 MB. As all files are encrypted, you must view them using the Log Viewer in the Data Share module . The current log file is named EhrNextGen.log. The log file path is \NextGen\LogFiles on the drive where the Data Share module is opened, for example, C:\NextGen\LogFiles. If the folder does not exist, it is automatically created. View Data Share Module Log Files You can use the Log Viewer in the Data Share module to help with troubleshooting issues. Search Log Files You can search the Data Share module log files to find specific information by date range, level, or message content. Export Log Files In the Data Share module log viewer, you can export a log file or the results of a log file search to a comma-separated values (CSV) file, text file, or Microsoft Excel® file (if Excel is installed). View Error Files or Logs

To view the NextGenDebugLog.txt text file, do the following: Navigate to the main NextGen directory. Open the file using Notepad. To view the ODBC Error Log, access the location specified in the [ODBC-API] section of your ngconfig.ini file. The ErrorLog file entry specifies the location of the log. To view the Application Event Log, Select Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer. Select the Application event log.
