Receive and Apply Charges from NextGen® Enterprise EHR

Do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Admin menu. Select Preferences > Enterprise In File Maintenance, select Master Files. Select System > Enterprises. Double-click an enterprise, and then select Preferences. The General tab of the Enterprise Preferences window opens. Do one of the following: Select the EHR manual charge processing check box to turn on the holding tank. Clear the EHR manual charge processing check box to turn off the holding tank. For each applicable practice, open the Charge Entry Practice Preferences, and then check or uncheck the EHR manual charge processing option. Setting Up General Default Information for Enterprises

The following table describes the fields on the General tab in Enterprise Preferences: Field Description Provider Subgrouping 1 and Provider Subgrouping 2 These user-defined fields are used as labels for reports at the enterprise or provider level. You can set up the following options at the enterprise level. Assign some general NextGen® Enterprise settings. Create client-defined fields for enterprise reporting. Adjust procedural steps in the flow of your NextGen patient checkout process. Set up naming conventions for Relative Value Units (RVUs). Receiving and Applying Charges from NextGen® Enterprise EHR

When the Suppress Billing option is not selected in the Service Item Library Maintenance window in File Maintenance or in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, unapplied encounter credits for charges entered for a patient in NextGen® Enterprise EHR generate automatically in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The information in the field associated with each charge is carried over from NextGen® Enterprise EHR to NextGen® Enterprise PM. When charges are sent from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the charges enter NextGen® Enterprise PM in one of the following methods: Automatically applied. When the holding tank is Off and the charges coming from NextGen® Enterprise EHR have an unapplied encounter credit, a batch with an ID of AUCR is automatically created. Placed in the holding tank until the users manually accept each charge. When the holding tank is On, a batch is not automatically created. You must have an active batch in NextGen® Enterprise PM so that the charges can be applied when you accept the charges either m

Configuring General User Preferences

You can configure General User Preferences to control how specific functions and tasks work for you in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Some settings are strictly for display purposes, while others affect the application behavior. In File Maintenance, general preferences can be defined in the Default User Prefs - General master file, and then assigned to groups of users or individual users in System Administrator.
