Task Subgrouping
Subgrouping helps to categorize tasks into groups, so users can easily manage, process, and report on tasks.
To setup the subgrouping task:
- Rename the subgrouping fields by typing new field labels in Enterprise Preferences General tab in the Task Subgrouping fields. If these fields are blank, the labels for the fields in all areas display as Task Subgrouping 1 and Task Subgrouping 2. The subgrouping labels defined in Enterprise Preferences display:
- For fields that you can use to categorize a task in the Task Types master file in File Maintenance
- For fields that you can use to categorize a task in the Add/Edit Task window in NextGen® Enterprise PM
- For fields in the Worklog Manager search criteria
- On the tab labels for the report filter for various task-related reports
- As column headings on reports
- Define subgrouping categories in the Task Subgroupings master list. The master list is used in both the Task Subgrouping 1 and Task Subgrouping 2 fields.
- Assign default subgroupings to a task type (by using categories from step 1) in the Task Types master file. These subgroupings are automatically selected for a task when it is created from the task type.
- Set the Task Subgrouping fields as required from the following:
- From the Task Types master file for tasks based on the task type.
- From the Tasks tab in Practice Preferences for all tasks in the practice.
- In System Administrator, set the Operations > Tasks > Task Subgrouping security right to allow users to change the subgrouping of a task in the Add/Edit Task window.
