Set the Font for Data Fields

Right-click the data field. Select Font and one of the following options: All Data Fields – This option applies the font settings to all available data fields within the form or label Current Data Field - This option applies the font settings only to highlighted data fields within the form or label Free Text - This option applies the font settings to free text entered within the form or label Highlighted Data Fields - This option applies the font settings to all highlighted data fields within the form or label Note: To select multiple data fields, hold the SHIFT key and then select the data fields with the mouse cursor. Insert Data Fields in Form and Label Templates

When you design forms and labels, you can use the NextGen Data Repository window to select and place the data fields that you want displayed when you print your custom designed forms or labels. To insert data fields in a form or label template: Open the template in File Maintenance. In the Form Design window, select Insert Data Field . The NextGen Data Repository window opens. Double click on the applicable icon to display the data fields for that icon. Insert a data field in one of two ways: Select and drag the data field onto the Form Design window and release the mouse button when you have positioned the data field where you want it placed. If you want to adjust its position on the form, select and drag it again. Select an item in the list, and then select Add. Use any of the following options to design the fields: To select more than one field, select the Shift key while you select the fields. To align multiple fields, select the fields. You can insert fields on a template and share, copy, and adjust their appearance and layout. Note: Some template types have limited template field availability. Use In-place Field Caption Editing

You can enter a caption directly in a selected label, push button, radio button, check box, or active text field in place of entering it in field property. Fields with captions are transparent in Template Editor. Note: You cannot change field captions on NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To use in-place caption editing when you create a field, do the following: Leave the caption blank in the Insert field window. After you create the field, select the field on the template, and enter the caption. To remove the caption you just entered, select Undo or select CTRL+Z. To use in-place caption editing to edit an existing field caption, do the following: Select the field on the template and enter the caption. The new caption overwrites the existing caption. Details Tab

On the Details tab you can set additional formatting information for form and label templates. The details you can set depend on whether you are modifying a form or label template. To set up a template details: Select Template Properties on the Label Template toolbar, and then select the Details tab. The Template Properties window opens. Form Template Details When you modify a form template, the Details tab enables you to set formatting information and select whether to include voided charges. Label Template Details When you modify a label template, the Details tab only displays the size and formatting information for the selected label. The only way to access and modify this information is to choose Custom as the Label Product on the Options tab. Set Up a Default Sort Order for Printing

Access File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, then PM, and then either Forms or Label Templates. The Forms List or Label Templates List window appears. From the list, double-click to open the desired Form or Label Template. The Form Design or Label Design window appears. From the design toolbar, select the Template Sorting Preference button. The Template Sorting Preference window appears. All data fields included on the form or label are listed in the Available Data Fields section on the left. From the Available Data Fields list, select a data field to be used in the default sort order for printing. Select the Add button to move the data field to the Selected Data Fields section on the right. Repeat steps 6 and 7 to add up to four additional data fields to the default sort. Note: A maximum of 5 data fields can be selected for the default sort.
