Modify or Search an ICDCM Code

Open File Maintenance. Select System Master Files, and then ICDCM Codes. The ICD-CM Code Search window opens. In the Search Method section, select one of the following search methods: Code or Description. Select the Search for keyphrase anywhere in the item check box if you want to see codes that contain a specific word or phrase anywhere in the description. In the Type the first letter(s) of the item you want to locate field, enter what you want to search for. The matching results list as you type. Note: You can enter an asterisk ( *) to list all records. Double-click to open the desired ICD the code. The Add/Modify ICD Code Information window opens. Complete the fields to add the ICD code. To hide an existing code, select the Hide check box. Do one of the following: To save changes and add another CPT4 code, select Next. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Update Codes from the ICD Master File

Use this procedure to add ICD codes from the master file into the selected library. This process gives you the option of importing either the ICD-9 or ICD-10 codes from the master file into the selected library. You can choose to enter codes by category by using the ICD and Thru ICD codes, the date the codes are to become effective, or the expiration date. In the File Maintenance, open Libraries > Diagnosis Codes > select the desired library. The Diagnosis Code Library Maintenance window opens. In the ICD field, select the Question Mark icon. The ICD-CM Code Search window opens. Search for the ICD code. Right-click on the code and select Update Eff/Exp Dates. The Update Eff/Exp Dates window opens. Complete the fields on the Update Eff/Exp Dates window. Select OK. A confirmation message displays that you are about to change the effective/expiration dates for the ICD Codes. Do one of the following: Select Yes to change the effective and/or expiration dates for the ICD codes. Select No to

The NextGen application includes pre-installed ICD diagnosis codes. Existing codes can be modified and new codes can be added, if needed. Add or Remove Diagnosis Codes

You can add or remove the diagnosis codes in the ICD-CM section on the Estimate Patient Cost window. When you add or remove diagnosis codes for existing estimates and submit the cost estimation, a cost estimate with a new cost estimation ID is created. Open the Estimate Patient Cost window for a person, patient, encounter, or appointment. In the ICD-CM section, select open record . The Diagnosis Selection window opens. In ICD-CM Codes, do one of the following to search for the desired diagnosis code. To search by code, select Code, and enter all or part of the code. To search by description, select Description, and enter all or part of the description of the code. Note: Select the Search for keyphrase anywhere in the diagnosis check box to list the codes that have the entered search criteria anywhere in the code or description. Link a CPT4 Code to a Specific Test

Select File Maintenance > Master Files > Order Tests. The Order Tests List window opens. Double-click to select a specific test. The Modify Order Test Information window opens. Select the folder next to CPT4 Codes. The CPT4 Code Search window opens. Select the Description heading, and enter a description of the test in the Available field. Select the corresponding test and select the right arrow to link the CPT4 code to the test. To save this CPT4 code with this test, select OK . The CPT4 Code Search window closes. Add ICD Codes in a Favorites List

The frequently assigned ICD codes can be added to a favorites group. Open the Add Billing ICD window. Folder name The list of favorites displays under the Favorites menu in the Add Billing ICD window. Create a favorites list. Search for and select an ICD code. The system displays a list of search results. To add an ICD Code to your favorites list, select the diagnosis in the list of search results and drag it to the favorites list. To delete a diagnosis/ICD code from the favorites list, right-click the diagnosis/ICD code and select Delete from Favorite Group.
