Practice Preferences for Waiting Lists

The table describes the preferences that you can set for waiting lists in your practice.

Enable Real-Time Waitlist ProcessingSelect this option to run real-time checks and triggers to identify waiting list opportunities.

If you do not select this option, the checks and triggers run during the nightly process, and no tasks are generated when users delete appointments.

Waitlist Interim Appt Automatic Cancellation ReasonSelect the default cancellation reason code to use when the waiting list automatically cancels an interim appointment. You can add or modify these reasons in the Appointment Cancellation Reasons master file.
Minimum Lead Time To Generate A Waitlist Worklog TaskSet the minimum lead time necessary to contact the patient and set up a visit for the patient.

For example, if an appointment slot opens 15 minutes from now, that is not enough time to contact the patient and get them into the practice; therefore, a task is not generated.

If a slot opens 90 minutes from now, then there may be sufficient time to contact the patient and get them into the practice. Therefore, a task is generated and assigned to the appointment clerk.
