Set Up Tasks for Auto Creation by Location

On the Auto Create Location tab on the Task Types dialog box, you can set tasks to be automatically assigned to a group or to users based on the location. When any task is created for an appointment, appointment waitlist, or encounter task type, and the appointment or encounter matches the location selected on this tab, the task is assigned to the selected users and groups. To set up a task to automatically generate, perform the following steps: Open or set up new Task Types. In the Source Type field, select either Appointment or Encounter as the source type. This field is required. The Auto Create Location tab is enabled. On the Auto Creation tab, select the actions that trigger the task. For more information, refer to Set Up Tasks for Auto Creation. If you want to assign a value to the task for reporting purposes, select the up and down arrows in the Task Value field. The higher the number, the more important the task is. To set up a task to automatically generate, perform the following steps: Open or set up new Task Types. Select the Open Menu button on the Task Types List and select New. Set up the task options on the Options tab as necessary. Select the Auto Creation tab. Enter a description of the task in the Task Type field. This field is required. If you want to assign a value to the task for reporting purposes, select the up and down arrows in the Task Value field. The higher the number, the more important the task is. This number ranks all of the tasks by source type. Therefore, if you have three tasks with a source type of encounter and they have task values of 1, 5, and 10, the task with a task value of 10 is more important than the tasks with values of 1 and 5. Set Up Wait List Tasks

To set up a Wait List task, perform the following steps: In the Source Type field, select Appointment Waitlist. In the Task Type field, enter a name for the task type. Select the Auto Creation tab. A list of task action descriptions for the source type display in the Action column. The items in the list represent events that occur in the application that can be selected to automatically generate tasks. Select the drop-down arrow in the Default Assigned To for all selected actions and select who you would like to assign this task to. Task types enable you to organize and manage tasks that are performed at your practice. They identify tasks according to the type of activity performed within a specific part of the application. You specify the part of the application (the Source Type) where the activity is performed. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, task types are used in the Worklog. To set up task types, perform the following steps: From the Master Files - System list, select System or PM, and then select Task Types. The Task Types List window displays.
