Create Task Workgroups

Open File Maintenance. Under Master Files, select Practice > Task Workgroups. The Task Workgroups List window opens. Enter the necessary details, and then select OK. Note: The Quick Task Setup template in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine displays the workgroups based on the selected locations. You can create task workgroups without selecting a location, and then select the same location for one or more workgroups. Parent topic: Task Workgroups

Task Workgroups

You can create Task Workgroups that contain users who are designated to perform a specific type of task. Task Workgroups provide an efficient way of assigning tasks to all relevant users at once. For example, you can create a Task Workgroup named Billers that includes all the users who bill patients. When you create a task, you can assign the task to a Task Workgroup in the NextGen® Enterprise PM Worklog. You can assign the default Task Workgroup when you set up task types in the Task Types master file. You can also assign one or more locations to a Task Workgroup. Create a User Source Task

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Tasks > Create Task. The Add Task window opens. Add Task window By default, Task Type is the only required field. If you want, you can set other fields as required from the Tasks tab in Practice Preferences window. Select the drop-down arrow in the Task Type field, and select the desired task type. You can leave the Status field to its default setting as it is changed by the user assigned to the task. Select the desired priority level, and then enter an appropriate subject. Select the drop-down arrow in the Assigned To field and select the group or user who you want to assign this task to or select the tab key to move to the next field. Tasks must be assigned to a user so that user can view their own tasks. Tasks that are assigned to a group cannot be viewed by a user. Creating Tasks

Add a Workgroup Category

If the desired workgroup category is not listed, you can add a category. You can do this either by typing a category or selecting one from a picklist. On the Tasking Configuration practice template, expand the Tasking Workgroup Setup panel. Click the Location Workgroup Category field. If you click once, you can type in the field. You can also double-click the field, and select the desired category from the window that opens. An Add button appears when there is an entry in the field.
