Correspondence Language and Letter Type Association Indicators	Description
Default	Appears in the Language column when the letter type is tagged to the default correspondence language (English). You can change the correspondence language of the letter types. You can associate this letter type with a letter type that is tagged to other correspondence language.
Default - Associated	Appears in the Language column when the letter type is associated with another letter type that is tagged to a correspondence language other than English. You cannot change the correspondence language of the letter. You must remove the association to change the correspondence language. You cannot associate this letter type with other letter types that have the same correspondence language. For example, if Letter A is tagged to English correspondence language, and Letter B and Letter C are tagged to French correspondence language, then you can associate Letter A with either Letter B or Letter C. You cannot associate Letter A with both, Letter B and Letter C, as they are tagged to the French correspondence language.
Language Name	Appears in the Language column, such as , when the letter type is tagged to that correspondence language. This letter type is not associated with other letter types or not used in an association. You can change the correspondence of this letter type. You cannot associate this letter type with any other letter types. You must change the correspondence language to English for associating it with any other letter types.
Language with a check mark	Appears in the Language column, such as , when the letter type is not associated with any other letter types, but is used in an association. For example, if Letter A is associated with Letter B, then Letter B is used in an association and the language name with a check mark appears in the Language column against Letter B. You cannot change the correspondence language of this letter. You cannot associate this letter with any other letters as it is tagged to a correspondence language.

Associating Letter Types

The default language for all letters is English. In the Language column of the Letters window, Default displays as the associated language. You can print or preview letters in multiple languages by associating a letter type that is tagged to the default correspondence language (English) with letter types that are tagged to other correspondence languages. The Budget Missed Payment Letter is associated to the Default correspondence language (English) The Budget Missed Payment 1 letter is associated to French. On the Correspondence Language Letter Association window, you can associate the Budget Missed Payment Letter (default) to the Budget Missed Payment 1 (French) letter. You can associate a letter type with multiple letter types that are tagged to different correspondence languages for previewing and printing the letter types in different languages. Note: You must unhide the hidden letter types to associate them with other letters. Open File Maintenance. Select Master Files > Practice, and then select Letters. The Letters window opens. To associate a letter in the Default language of English to a letter in a different language, select the letter in the default language, right-click and then select Associate. Associate a Default Letter Type to a Language

Before you begin Compose a letter in one or more of the supported correspondence languages. Open File Maintenance. From the Master Files section, select Practice, and then select Letters.The Letters window opens.
