Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences

The Appt Scheduling practice preferences enables you to set various options and defaults that impact setup in Scheduling Administration and booking appointments in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences Field Descriptions Hide Time Slots to the Right of the Scheduler Book You can hide time slots to the right of the scheduler book. Time Interval Overrides You can set different time increments to schedule resources at different times for doctors to perform their standard procedure. Enable Group Scheduling

To utilize the patient groups, group appointments, and group encounters functionality in NextGen® Enterprise PM, an option must be enabled in Practice Preferences. Access NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Admin menu, select Preferences, and then Practice. The Practice Preferences window opens. From the Preference List, select Appt Scheduling. Select the Enable Group Scheduling check box. Appointment Scheduling Preferences

Appointment Scheduling Preferences control how specific functions and tasks work in the Appointment Book in NextGen® Enterprise PM. While some settings are strictly for customizing the display, others affect the application behavior. You must complete these settings before opening the Appointment Book for the first time. In File Maintenance, scheduling preferences can be defined in the Default User Prefs - Scheduling master file, and then assigned to groups of users or individual users in System Administrator. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, you can modify your own scheduling preferences in Admin > Preferences > User > Scheduling. Your settings override any default settings that were assigned to you in System Administrator. Scheduling Administration

Scheduling Administration is an important function in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The Scheduling Administration creates the Appointment Book window and helps you schedule appointments for patients in a practice. Note: When you select the Enable Enterprise Appointment Scheduling option in Practice Preferences window, the Scheduling Admin option on the Admin menu displays the following two options: Enterprise Practice The following tabs are available in the Scheduling Administration window: Classes Resources Events Event Chains Categories Weekly Templates Daily Templates For scheduling appointments on the practice level using the Appointment Search Ahead window, you must complete the configuration for the practice in Practice Scheduling Administration for each practice. Operating Hours in Appointment Scheduling Practice Preferences

In NextGen® Enterprise Practice Preferences, the Operating Hours fields have been added in the View Options section on the Appt Scheduling tab. You can set the start time, end time, and days of the week as part of the operating hours in NextGen® Enterprise PM. You can also hide appointment slots that are not within operating hours by selecting the Apply operating hours to Scheduling Admin templates and Appointment Book option.
