Modify an ICD in the ICD Billing List

You can modify or update a diagnosis that is not assigned to a Locked Encounter. If a problem is assigned to a Locked Encounter, you cannot make any modifications except to enter a Resolved Date. Select the patient's encounter that contains the problem to modify. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Select the diagnosis. Enter changes. Select Save. Specify a Diagnosis Status

In the Billing ICD List tab, you can only change the status of a diagnosis to Resolved. After you Resolve a diagnosis, you cannot change it. You can, however, duplicate (Recur) the ICD code to create an exact copy of the diagnosis with a status of Unresolved. Select a patient. Select the patient's encounter that contains the problem to specify a status. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Select the problem in the Billing ICD List data entry area. Note: If there is more than one instance of a Diagnosis/Billing ICD code, select the top level displayed for the Billing ICD code to resolve all of the listed instances or select a specific Onset Date of the diagnosis to resolve the particular instance. If you are resolving multiple instances of the same Billing ICD Code, a warning message appears. Select Yes. Do one of the following: Right-click and select Resolved from the context menu. Select the Status list in the Billing ICD List data entry area and select the Resolved

Add an ICD to the ICD Billing List

The Add ICD option enables you to add a ICD code to the billing ICD list. Open Billing ICD List. On the Billing ICD List tab, select the Add ICD button. The Add Billing ICD window opens. All Diagnosis To search for a patient's diagnosis, do the following In the Search field, enter the diagnosis description in full or in part. Specify whether you want the Add Billing ICD window to search for ICD codes in the All Diagnoses list (default), the Patient's Diagnoses list, the Patient's Chronic Diagnoses list, a Favorites folder, or by Categories. Select Search. The application displays a list of search results. The most frequently assigned ICD code appears at the top of the list. Search results To add a search result to a favorite's list, right-click the search result and select Add to Favorite Group. Billing ICD List Data Entry Area

The billing ICD list data entry area displays the options to add, modify, track, and resolve the billing ICD information for patient problems. The billing ICD list data entry area has two sections, the data entry area toolbar and the data entry fields, and occupies the bottom half of the Billing ICD List tab. Billing ICD List Billing ICD List Data Entry Area Toolbar The billing ICD list data entry area toolbar provides options to manage the items in the billing ICD list. Billing ICD List Toolbar

The billing ICD list toolbar is located below the Problem List and Billing ICD List tabs. The Billing ICD List toolbar provides the following features and functions: Button Description Refresh Updates information that has been entered and accepted in the Billing ICD List tab. Preferences Enables you to choose which columns are displayed. Deleted Items Opens the Deleted Items window which lists all the deleted billing ICD entries. Open Billing ICD List

The Billing ICD List tab of the Problems module displays the details of the billing ICD codes of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Select an existing encounter from the Encounter History or create an encounter. To open the Problems module, select Problems on the Quick Buttons panel.The Problems module opens displaying the Problem List tab by default. To open the billing ICD list, select the Billing ICD List tab. Billing ICD List Billing ICD List The billing ICD list displays all the resolved and unresolved billing ICD entries of a patient.
