Reactivate Users

A user becomes automatically deactivated when he or she has not logged onto any of the NextGen® Enterprise Healthcare applications in a specified period of time. The user cannot log on again until he or she is reactivated. Reactivated users return to the groups that they were originally assigned to. Select the inactive user. Reassigning Pending PAQ Items and Tasks of Deactivated Users

When you deactivate a user in System Administrator, you can reassign their pending PAQ items and tasks to other users. System Administrator enables you to view a list of available delegates and assign the pending items and tasks without having to exit the application. In System Administrator, you can select the user that you want to deactivate, and after performing a delegate check, you can view the list of pending PAQ items and tasks to be reassigned. Notes:Before deactivating a user, the pending PAQ items and NextGen Enterprise tasks must be reassigned to an active user. If the list of pending PAQ items inNextGen® Enterprise EHRincludes multi-user sign off PAQ items (multi-user sign off PAQ items are listed as pending), then more pending PAQ items are listed inNextGen® Enterprise EHRthan in System Administrator. Deactivate a User

Deactivating a user removes the user from all groups that he or she is a member of. There are three methods for deactivating users: You can manually deactivate users. Users become automatically deactivated after a specified number of failed login attempts. For more information about the settings, see Restrict Unsuccessful Login Attempts. Users become automatically deactivated when he or she has not logged onto any of the NextGen applications in a specified period of time. For information about setting the deactivate period, see Inactive User Options section in Password Requirements. To manually deactivate a user, Select the user you want to deactivate, right-click the user, then select Deactivate. From the main menu, select Edit, then select Deactivate A message warns you that if you deactivate the user, the user is also deactivated in all other user groups that he or she is assigned to. Remove and Delete Users

You can remove or deactivate a user, but you cannot permanently remove users from the system. Removing a user means removing the user from one group while he or she remains a member of at least one other group. Deactivating a user means removing the user from all groups, practices, and enterprises. You can still view deactivated users and restore them to the groups they were last assigned to.
