Disable the Password Prompt for Minimized Windows

You can determine whether users must re-enter their password when they restore a minimized session window of the application. You must disable the setting if Single Sign On is enabled. To prevent the password prompt when an application is restored, in File Maintenance or NextGen® Enterprise PM, open Practice Preferences. In the General tab of the Practice Preferences, clear the Prompt for password when application is restored from minimized session check box. Parent topic: Using Single Sign On

Using Single Sign On

Single Sign On streamlines the user logon process for multiple applications. It enables users to switch from one non-administrative application (such as NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, NextGen® Document Management, and NextGen® Optical Management to another without having to log on to each application. Note: For security purposes, user access to administrative applications should be restricted. Therefore, users must always log on to the administrative applications such as File Maintenance, System Administrator, NextGen® Background Business Processor, NextGen® Clinical Message Manager, and Report Server. When Single Sign On is in use and Patient Synchronization is enabled, an open patient record in one application automatically opens in subsequent applications. The same record displays when the user opens another application or when the user switches from one open application to another. Set Up the Disable Lab Signoff Security Universal Preference

A System Administrator setting controls Sign-Off security for signing off on test orders. If you turn it ON (False), then when someone tries to sign-off on a completed test, they are required to enter a password before they can complete the sign-off. Open Sysytem Administrator and enter your credentials. Select View. Select Universal Preferences. Select Orders Group. Select Disable Lab Signoff Security. False means a password is required to complete the sign-off. True means no password is needed to complete the sign-off. Select to select True or False. Select OK. When in the Orders module, if you select Sign-off on the Orders toolbar, the validate window opens. You must enter the information in the fields before the Sign-off can be completed. Remove the Enterprise and Practice Fields

To remove the Enterprise and Practice fields from the Logon window, double-click View > Universal Preferences > General Options > Bypass Enterprise/Practice at Login in System Administrator. Set to True to enable users to log on to the NextGen® Enterprise applications without having to select an enterprise and practice. The Logon window will no longer display the Enterprise and Practice fields. Note: If a user has access to only one practice, then when the user selects the Logon button, the application opens. If a user has access to multiple practices, then when the user selects the Logon button, a window displays so they can select the appropriate enterprise and practice before the application opens. Deactivate a User

Deactivating a user removes the user from all groups that he or she is a member of. There are three methods for deactivating users: You can manually deactivate users. Users become automatically deactivated after a specified number of failed login attempts. For more information about the settings, see Restrict Unsuccessful Login Attempts. Users become automatically deactivated when he or she has not logged onto any of the NextGen applications in a specified period of time. For information about setting the deactivate period, see Inactive User Options section in Password Requirements. To manually deactivate a user, Select the user you want to deactivate, right-click the user, then select Deactivate. From the main menu, select Edit, then select Deactivate A message warns you that if you deactivate the user, the user is also deactivated in all other user groups that he or she is assigned to. Set Up Universal Preferences for NextGen Population Health Single Sign-On

You can set up the Universal Preferences for NextGen Population Health Single Sign-On so that the users can access NextGen Populaton Health website from NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open System Administrator. Select View > Universal Preferences. The NextGen Preferences window opens. From the left pane, select Population Health. The list of preferences appear on the right pane. In the Certificate Path field, select the path where the security certificate for PHS Single Sign-On is stored. In the NextGen Population Health Production URL field, enter the NextGen Population Health URL. In the PHS Gateway field, enter the lambda name which is used to communicate details between NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen Population Health. In the Tenant field, enter the tenant name.
