Using Single Sign On

Single Sign On streamlines the user logon process for multiple applications. It enables users to switch from one non-administrative application (such as NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, NextGen® Document Management, and NextGen® Optical Management to another without having to log on to each application.

When Single Sign On is in use and Patient Synchronization is enabled, an open patient record in one application automatically opens in subsequent applications. The same record displays when the user opens another application or when the user switches from one open application to another. However, you can override Patient Synchronization by clearing the appropriate synchronization check box in the Preferences in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and in the Session Settings for the NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Document Management applications.

To use Single Sign On, you must first enable it. Then, you must disable the setting for the password prompt that occurs when an application is restored.
