Email Notifications for Messages Stuck in the Outgoing Audit Message Queue

In the Audit Report Tool, audit messages can sometimes get stuck in the outgoing message queue. To send notifications of such messages to concerned individuals, you can enable and configure the email notification feature in the System Administrator application. The email notification feature is disabled by default. When an audit message is stuck in any workstation for more than the time interval that you specify, the system sends the notification email to the applicable recipients after the user starts any of the applications that use the Advanced Auditing system. The system stops sending email notifications when the user closes the applications. Set Up Advanced Auditing

Before you begin Before you set up advanced auditing feature, make sure that the appropriate group and users have the proper rights and permissions set. You can setup the advanced auditing features to include the events to be audited as per your requirement. From the System Administrator, select View > Advanced Audit Setup. The Advanced Audit Setup window opens. Select the Enable Advanced Auditing check box (if required). Note: Starting with NextGen® Enterprise application, 5.9.2020.1 release onwards, advanced auditing is a required module. Values for Server Name list and Distribute Load evenly are set automatically by the Service Manager and should not be changed. Advanced auditing and audit events are also enabled automatically. Select the Events Setup tab. Expand the Enterprise and Practice to display audit categories. Expand a category to display the available options. Select Event Tracking with Advanced Auditing

Advanced auditing tracks the events across all NextGen® Enterprise applications. You can access the setup for Advance Auditing in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, NextGen® Document Management, and System Administrator. Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Admin, and then select Advanced Audit Setup. The Advanced Audit Setup window opens with the Events Setup tab displaying the current enterprise name. Advanced Audit Setup window Select which events to track by doing one of the following: To track all events within an enterprise, select the enterprise name checkbox. To track all events within a practice, expand the enterprise name, and then select the practice name checkbox. Advanced Audit for Patient Education

Advanced audit is available for internal patient education. Advanced audit saves the following events: Printed Viewed Saved (Healthwise Patient Education only) To comply with the Stage 2 Meaningful Use requirements, advanced audit is available for the events related to external resources from the various modules of NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Advanced audit saves the following information for external resources: User Standard date and time Enterprise Practice Station Patient Originating module Full URL Note: Because the URLs for external resources open outside of the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application, audit information cannot be obtained from the URL. The Audit Report Tool provides a list of event types that can be used as a filter to view the audit log items.
