The PxP Portal integration is built to check for various filter combinations to decide where to send a message. The below events occur as message routings are scanned for various combinations to determine where the message should go. Below each event is an example of how rules could be configured in PxP Portal Integration Tool (PPIT) Message Routing. These combinations can vary based on the unique setup in Site Generator and the respective selections. Setting up Routing Rules for Patient Messages

Message routing rules help you route incoming messages, appointment requests and, medication renewal requests from NextGen® PxP Portal to providers, practice staff, or front desk personnel. You can configure the following routing rules for a group or user. Communication routing rules - For routing secure messages received from patients asking a question. Prescription routing rules - For routing prescription requests received from patients. Appointment request routing rules - For routing appointment requests received from patients. You can use the search option to view and edit the routing rules configured for a location and provider. Examples of Prescription Renewal Logic

Prescription request does not provide an option to granularly control what locations show for a designated provider in dropdown menus. Prescription request solution uses the user’s locations assigned in Manage Locations for Users to determine how to show provider in dropdown menus when the provider is configured to accept refills in Manage Solutions for Users. Site Generator setup when one provider is configured for a location and the provider accepts prescription renewals. Manage Locations for Physicians Patient view for Rx Request in NextGen® PxP Portal - If the location selected by patient only has one provider associated, in NextGen® PxP Portal patient is not required to choose provider after the location selection but the provider selected is shown in the confirmation screen. Rx Request Rx Request_Provider Note: Some solutions are designed to operate a specific way based on design. If the solution does not meet the clients need, practice should consider inactivating the solution.

Configure Appointment Request Routing Rules

You can set up routing rules for appointment requests sent by patients from NextGen® PxP Portal. In PxP Portal Integration Tool, select Message Routing icon.The Message Routing page opens. Select the Appointment Request tab. For Set Default User, enter the routing type and routing name. Appointment requests are routed to this user or group if no routing rules are configured.
