Add a Credit Card on File Using the Swipe Method

You can store a patient's credit card data in NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed using a unique token ID. You can view the saved credit card data on the Credit Card on File tab of the Account Profile window. Note: A push-pin icon on the Credit Card on File tab indicates that the patient has an active credit card on file. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Account. The Account Lookup window opens. Search for and open the patient account. The Account Profile window opens. Select the Credit Card on File tab. To add a credit card, select open menu , and then select New. A window opens to choose the method to save the credit card data. Optional: If there are existing practice preferences and no user preferences are selected, select one of the payment processing method: For practices with a single MID, the NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed web form opens on your default browser and you can enter the cheque details. For practices with multiple existing MID's, the Profile and Using Outlet options

When one practice in an enterprise has set up multi-merchant IDs or Device Profiles, the profiles or multi-merchant IDs do not cross practices. As a prerequisite, before you begin processing with NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed, review the following requirements for single sign-on (SSO), EMV, and NFC transactions: EMV and NFC Transactions To process EMV or NFC transactions, you must contact NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed to purchase an approved credit card device. DynaMag Swipers The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is mandated by the card brands and administered by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council. If you use a DynaMag swiper, it must meet the PCI standard. Contact NextGen® Pay to replace any old swipers with a new encrypted device. Set Up Unique MIDs for Users

Use the User Preferences window to set up unique MID for every user. You can set up the unique MID when there are no profiles created in the Practice Preferences window. In NextGen® Enterprise PM select Admin > Preferences > User > General > Payment Processing tab. The Payment Processing tab on the User Preferences window opens. User Preference window Select the following details on the Payment Processing tab of the User Preferences window. Swipe MID: Select the swipe MID number provided by NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed. This number will be attached to all swiped credit card transactions. Terminal ID: Select the terminal ID for your practice. If left blank, the application populates this field with 0001. Non-Swipe: Enter the non-swipe number provided by NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed. This number will be attached to all credit card transactions when the card is not present or when the number is keyed into the system.
