Prerequisites for Processing Transactions
When one practice in an enterprise has set up multi-merchant IDs or Device Profiles, the profiles or multi-merchant IDs do not cross practices.
As a prerequisite, before you begin processing with NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed, review the following requirements for single sign-on (SSO), EMV, and NFC transactions:
- EMV and NFC Transactions
To process EMV or NFC transactions, you must contact NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed to purchase an approved credit card device.
- DynaMag Swipers
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is mandated by the card brands and administered by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council. If you use a DynaMag swiper, it must meet the PCI standard. Contact NextGen® Pay to replace any old swipers with a new encrypted device.
By processing electronic transactions through NextGen® Pay, you can do the following:
- Store credit card token IDs on file for one-time payment collection.
- Encrypt point-to-point keyed transactions and cards with a magnetic stripe or one that uses chip technology.
- Apply payments using a credit card or ECheck.
- Add credit card on file to the patient's account.
- Create a task for credit card expiration dates.
- Use a check scanner to scan patient's checks to NextGen® Pay powered by InstaMed.
