Set Up General and Communication Feature Settings

Administrators can set the account time zone and the earliest and latest hours to communicate with patients to ensure that patients are not disturbed by messages at inappropriate times. Administrators can also set the duration of user inactivity before the session automatically logs off and the number of days a message link remains active after being sent to patients. Additionally, administrators can turn off specific message channels for the account, such as SMS, voice, email, and chat, to customize the practice preferences for staff notifications. Create and Update Customized Patient Forms

As a practice administrator, you can create and customize pre-scheduling, intake, feedback, Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (CCDA), and scheduler assist normal, screening, and multilanguage-supported forms. Providers can use forms to allow patients to complete intake requirements before coming to the appointment and therefore streamline staff workflows. In NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma, the administrator can configure intake forms in appointment reminders or send directly to patients in messages, including reminders, broadcasts, chats, and custom actions. Your administrator can use existing templates or create their own forms. The application supports forms in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Patients can select their preferred language while completing forms. The administrator must select the preferred language type when creating forms to support forms in multiple languages. Create and Update Text Messages and Templates

Administrators can create common and frequently used messages and save them to the message library. They can also update the following types of templates in SMS, voice, and email formats to ensure that patients receive similar messages every time: Appointment templates Feedback templates Offer templates Referral templates Waitlist templates Other templates Note: For more information, visit Luma Help Center. Configure the Pre-visit Checklist for Patients

As a practice administrator, you can configure specific pre-visit checklists for existing and new patients. Before you begin You must configure the patient demographic, standard consent, insurance, and payment forms with the necessary fields. Open your Luma Dashboard. Select the patient profile "" icon, and then select Mission Control > Utilities > Checklist Builder.The list of existing checklists appears. Select Add Checklist, and enter a name for the checklist. Under Checklist Items, in Checklist Item 1, do the following: Search for and select the configured patient information form, and then select the Pt. Demographics category. Group the List of Customized Actions

Open your Luma Dashboard. Select the patient profile icon, and then select Mission Control > Utilities > Custom Actions. In the Custom Actions window, select New Group. In the Create a new group window, enter the name, select the necessary actions from the list, and then select Create. The group is added. Create and Send Messages to Patient Groups

You or your practice staff can send messages about office closures, inform patients about provider absences, and contact patients with the same upcoming procedure up to 10,000 patients at a time without manually calling each patient. To avoid unintentional messages, when sending a bulk message to more than 1,000 patients, the message is sent to the support team for review before sending to patients. After reviewing the message, the support team either approves and sends to patients or requests changes if needed. NextGen Healthcare recommends using only 320 characters and reviewing the NextGen® Patient Engage powered by Luma health message content policy before sending a broadcast message.
