Automatic Patient Enrollment at the Enterprise Level

On the Patient Activation page, you can set up enterprise-level enrollment, including all practices in an enterprise, to enable automatic patient enrollment in NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: This feature is available only in NextGen® Enterprise 6.2021.1 or later. To change this configuration, contact NextGen Healthcare. If you set up enterprise-level enrollment for all practices in an enterprise and a patient enrolls in NextGen® PxP Portalfor one practice, then the patient is automatically enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal if they visit another practice in the same enterprise. The patient can view and manage information related to both the practices under one NextGen® PxP Portal account. Scenario: Practice 1 and Practice 2 belong to Enterprise 1, and enterprise-level enrollment is set up for both practices. A patient visits Practice 1 and completes enrollment in NextGen® PxP Portal. The patient visits Practice 2 and is automatically enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. The patient can use their

Enroll a Patient in NextGen® PxP Portal

If the Patient Portal trigger action is Enrollment, you can set up a NextGen® PxP Portal account for the selected patient through NextGen® Enterprise EHR. For more information on the enrollment process, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest NextGen® PxP Portal Provider Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Ask your system administrator which NextGen® Enterprise EHR template and field to use. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select the template that contains the Patient Portal trigger, and then select OK. Select the Patient Portal trigger on the applicable field. The following actions are triggered depending on the patient status: If the patient status is Not Enrolled and all mandatory patient information fields are filled, a NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment invitation email is sent to the patient. Invitation Based Enrollment

If a patient has not enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, you can send enrollment invitation to the patient through email from NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The enrollment invitation is sent automatically when you provide certain mandatory information for a patient. A notification message for the enrollment invitation email is sent to the patient as a text message if they have provided a valid mobile number. Note: To enable sending notification for the enrollment invitation email as text message to patients with valid mobile number, you must select Enroll w/ SMS in the Patient Activation page in Site Generator. Set up Patient Portal Trigger

The Patient Portal action launches windows at run time that enable you to: Set up an account for a patient on the NextGen® PxP Portal website. Schedule the future delivery of a message to a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. After a message has been scheduled, you can review and edit or delete it, if necessary. NextGen® PxP Portal is a secure Internet portal that enables patients to communicate with providers, request appointments, request prescription refills, review test results, complete online forms, view documents and statements, and access health reference information.
