Search for Information for a Specific Topic

You can search for information for a specific topic for a patient's issue. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the FAQs panel, in Search Issues , enter one or more words to search for all related topics, and then select the icon.The grid refreshes to display all topics that are related to your search words. Select a row in the grid displaying the question you are interested.The answer corresponding to the selected question displays in the text field below the grid. Set Up Ask A Staff Questions for Patient Communication

In Ask A Staff, which provides bi-directional patient communication, you can define an unlimited set of question labels. Open Site Generator, and then select NextGen Healthcare Site Administration. The Site Generator page opens. From Portal Solutions, select Ask A Staff. The Ask A Staff Configuration Options page opens. To add a question label, select Add a New Entry. A new row labelled Click to Edit appears. To change the label name, select Edit Label. To enable providers to prescribe medications, document CPT®, and diagnostic codes, select the corresponding Allow Clinical check box. To add providers and staff members to the NextGen® PxP Portal website, select the corresponding Specific to Individuals check box. To turn on the document attachment options, select the corresponding Allow Attachments checkbox. To set up permissions for a question label, select the corresponding Setup Permissions link. Assigning Permissions to Individual Users

After the online solutions are associated with the configured personnel types and the locations for each user, click Manage Solutions For Users tab to assign permissions for each individual user. This dictates whether the Physician/Providers/Personnel is displayed in the NextGen® PxP Portal for that solution’s workflow. It also dictates whether the user has permission to that solution within Practice Portal. The Manage Solutions For Users tab enables you to: Filter by personnel types Filter by solution Filter by locations Filter by users Grant permission to the individual user: Accept - Enabled for Solution. Appointment Request and Prescription Renewal uses the “Accept” permission which enables the user to display in portal to patients while using those workflows Enable - Enabled for Solution All labels created for Ask A Staff will have separate permissions to be configured. Document Configurable Questionnaires

You can document the answers for the pre-configured questions on the Additional Visit Information template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. Expand the General panel. Select the Configurable Questionnaires link.The Additional Visit Information template opens. Select a specialty. In Selected Category, select a category from the list.The configured questions for the selected category appear in the Pre-configured questions for selected category(s) grid. You can select the Show all answered questions for the encounter checkbox to filter and view the questions that are answered. Note: You can configure additional questions on the Additional Visit Information Config template. Managing Provider Information

The Provider tab appears only when one or more custom User Defined Patient Provider fields have been created in Practice Preferences. Up to 12 patient provider fields can be set up and then used to collect additional provider information for a person or patient. Information on the Provider tab is stored at the practice level; therefore, each practice can enter and maintain different information for a person or patient.
