Configuring Trusted Representatives for a Patient

To verify the linked dependent and trusted representatives for a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account, you can use the Family Management section on the Patient Dashboard. You can also configure the access rights for trusted representatives on behalf of the patient. Enroll as Guardian to Link Dependent Patient

Before you begin Ensure that the patient or the person has received an email from the practice inviting them to create a NextGen® PxP Portal guardian account. A patient or person can enroll themselves as the guardian to access and manage a dependent NextGen® PxP Portal account. The patient or person must link the guardian portal account to the dependent's NextGen® PxP Portal account. In the invitation email received from the practice, select Sign Up!. The Please Identify the Patient page opens. Patient verification page Enter the dependent patient's zip code and date of birth. Select Continue. The Welcome window opens. Do one of the following: If the guardian already has a NextGen® PxP Portal account, enter the username, password, and relationship with the dependent patient, and then select Enter Portal. If the guardian does not have a NextGen® PxP Portal account: Enter the first name, last name, email address, and relationship with the dependent patient, and then select Continue. The

Trusted Representatives for a Patient

A trusted representative is a person assigned to view the health information and act on behalf of an adult patient in NextGen® PxP Portal. The patient must send an email invitation to the assigned representative to create a trusted representative account. The patient initiates the access and monitors the trusted representative's account completely. A trusted representative can do the following: View the messages of the patient. Create an Ask a Question category. Reply to messages from the practice on behalf of the patient. View the health record data of the patient. Invite Trusted Representatives An adult patient can send an invitation to a representative to create an account as a trusted representative in NextGen® PxP Portal. Enroll as a Trusted Representative A patient or person invited by an adult patient can enroll as a trusted representative in NextGen® PxP Portal. Enroll as a Trusted Representative

Before you begin The trusted representative must have received an invitation from an adult patient. In the invitation email, select Sign Up!. The Please Identify the Patient page opens. Managing Accounts for Guardians and Trusted Representatives in Practice Portal

Practice can invite guardians and trusted representatives for patients using the Family Management section in Practice Portal. Practices can also edit the access rights of a trusted representative on behalf of a patient. Practices can manage the following types of patients using the Patient Dashboard in Practice Portal: Inactive Underage Patient This type of patient is not old enough to age out, and the patient's parent or guardian has not completed the enrollment using the invitation email. The Patient's age is under the age-out age configured for this practice icon indicates that the patient is not old enough to age out. Active Underage Patient This type of patient is not old enough to age-out, and the patient's parent or guardian has accepted the invitation and activated the account. Your practice can manage the following scenarios associated with an active account for an underage patient: If the guardian has a NextGen® PxP Portal account, your practice can view the guardian patient

Open NextGen® PxP Portal, and then select Account. The Account page opens. Account page Select Invite New. The Health information authorization page opens. In the Manage Access section, select the level of access for the trusted representative. Select one of the following permissions for the trusted representative.
