Linking Accounts with Guardians and Trusted Representatives

Practices can assign a guardian to access and manage a dependent's portal account if the guardian's portal account is linked to the dependent's portal account. The practice sends an invitation to the guardian's email address to create a guardian account. Adult patients can assign a trusted representative to view their health information and act on their behalf in NextGen® PxP Portal. The patient sends an invitation to the trusted representative's email address to create a trusted representative account. Practices can send invitations automatically to patients or guardians and choose not to send invites to patients in a specific age group. Note: Patients of any age range can also choose to enroll manually. Create NextGen® PxP Portal Account

Patients can create a NextGen® PxP Portal account from the logon page on their own. On the NextGen® PxP Portal logon page, select Create a new account.The Patient Information page opens. Patient Information page Enter the details, and then select Next.The Create Security Details page opens. Account security information page Enter the details and then select Verify.The Verify Multi-Factor Authentication page opens. Enter the verification code you received from the email or text message, and then select Verify.The NextGen® PxP Portal account is activated and the NextGen® PxP Portal home page opens. Select Continue.

Enroll as a Trusted Representative

Before you begin The trusted representative must have received an invitation from an adult patient. In the invitation email, select Sign Up!. The Please Identify the Patient page opens. Patient verification page Enter the zip code and date of birth of the patient, and then select Continue. The Welcome! page opens. Do one of the following: If the trusted representative already has a NextGen® PxP Portal account, enter the username, password, relationship with the patient, and then select Enter Portal. If the trusted representative does not have a NextGen® PxP Portal account: Enter the first name, last name, email address, relationship with the patient, and then select Continue. The Create Security Details window opens. Account security information page Enter values in the fields and select Enter Portal. Activate NextGen® PxP Portal Account

When a patient visits a practice, the practice creates a patient account in NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM and sends the enrollment invitation to the patient's registered email. If the mobile number is available, the invitation is also sent through a text message. The patient must activate the NextGen® PxP Portal account to access their health records and communicate with their practice. Configuring Trusted Representatives for a Patient

To verify the linked dependent and trusted representatives for a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account, you can use the Family Management section on the Patient Dashboard. You can also configure the access rights for trusted representatives on behalf of the patient. Managing NextGen® PxP Portal Enrollment from the Chart

You can provide patients access to their accounts in NextGen® PxP Portal. You can enroll patients in the portal through the patient chart. You can add a care manager to manage the selected patient’s NextGen® PxP Portal account. For example, a husband having access rights to his wife’s account. You can add a dependent for the selected patient to manage at the time of enrollment or at the request of the patient. For exaple, a mother having access to her children's account. You can also change access rights, add or terminate a care manager or dependent relationship.
