Work History, Precautions/Indications

The Job Title, Demand Level, Work Status, and Last Worked fields give you the opportunity to document the physical demands of the patient’s workplace and the patient’s work status. You can document whether the patient has any precautions or contraindications to treatment by entering them in the Precautions / Contraindications field. Pre-Surgical Checklist Panel

The Pre-Surgical Checklist displays information that carries forward once information is entered. You can select the Y or N options to capture patient information. Additional information appears in red next to the items marked Y. Cardiac items with a Y, change to read-only. Pre-Surgical Checklist panel on the Surgery Scheduling template Note: The Cardiac Alerts button opens a Cardiac Alert window where you can add more information regarding the Cardiac Stent and Cardiac Valve. When you select Y for HX of MRSA/VRE, two check boxes appear: I/D Consult Ordered- Selecting this check box automatically enters “Infectious Disease” and “MRSA” in the Specialty and Reason fields of the Specialty Clearance section of the Medical Clearance panel. You can enter the Provider that the patient is seeing, if known. Suppressing DUR Alerts

Administrators have the ability to suppress specific DUR interactions for a set time or forever for a specific patient and user. DUR suppression is enabled through File Maintenance. System-level and practice-level preferences determine if a user can suppress DUR interactions and the types and limits of DUR interaction suppression. Example: Because Sinus Node Dysfunction is treated by a pacemaker, there is a contraindication alert when beta-blocker is prescribed and a patient has sinus Node Dysfunction as the diagnosis. This contraindication alert is invalid if the patient has a pacemaker. While the pacemaker in this scenario invalidates the alert because multiple diagnoses are not being applied, a provider in this scenario would be alerted every time they add the Sinus Node Dysfunction as an assessment, which is every time they do a pacemaker check. Eligibility Verification Alerts

Selecting Alerts from the navigation bar prompts the response to scroll to the alert section at the top of the screen. This allows you to identify if the plan is active (green alert) or inactive (red alert). Other messages such as when additional payers are found, or if additional verification is needed, orange alerts appear. Furthermore, a blue alert means that the response returned limited benefits for service types and needs to be reviewed. The limited panel holds service types with mixed coverage. For instance, limited coverage could be ACTIVE for insurance when it’s in-network but NON-COVERED if the patient is out-of-network. Parent topic: Eligibility Responses

Enable Care Guidelines

Below the template links, you may see a Care Guidelines link with a red badge, if it is enabled in your practice’s configuration settings. This link opens the Care Guidelines template. The number in the badge is the number of items that are due or not prescribed.
