Edit a Simple Alert

You can make changes to an alert that is not locked and does not require that you select the Edit Message button to make changes to it. Select the alert in the grid. The details for the alert enter the Description and Message fields below the grid. To edit the entry for the Description and Message fields, select the fields, and then edit the text. Select Update. Alert Message Types

There are three types of alerts based on the kinds of changes you can make to them. Alerts panel in the Alert Config template Simple alerts display only the message text in the Message column. For instructions on editing the messages for these alerts, see Edit a Simple Alert. Configurable alerts display **Configurable by selecting Edit Message button below** in the Message column. For instructions on editing these alerts, see Edit Configurable Alerts. Locked alerts display **Message Locked** in the Message column. They are part of a stored procedure, so you cannot change them. Edit Alert View

Use the Edit Alert view to configure and modfiy alerts. An alert is a process that listens for certain types of events and triggers based on configurable settings. From these triggers you can take various actions, like dispatching an e-mail to a user or specific address, or sending a message to a channel. Mirth® Connect by NextGen Healthcare comes with a built-in Error-based alerting system that listens for error events from selected channels. The Advanced Alerting extension adds on this by also including powerful metric-based alerts, escalation levels, scheduling, notification throttling, and other advanced features. The Edit Alert view is where alerts are configured / modified. Once saved, an alert will be displayed on the Alerts view, which is like a dashboard for your currently configured alerts. Alerts Panel

The grid in the Alerts panel displays all alerts that have been set up. The Description column describes the usage scenario that causes the alert to fire. The Message column shows the text of the alert message. The When column shows the template in the workflow where the alert fires. The Visit Set column shows which types of visits the alert will fire for. The Enabled column shows whether the alert has been enabled to fire ('Locked' indicates an alert that always fires and cannot be disabled). The Override column indicates whether an override has been configured for the alert. If there is an override (Yes), then when you select the alert, you see the conditions of the override in the grid in the Alerts Overrides panel. Most of the alerts are set to Enabled, and the system prevents you from disabling them due to regulatory or documentation requirements. If you select a row in the grid and the Enable checkbox becomes unavailable, you cannot turn off the alert. Search for an Alert Filter

Update an Alert

You can edit or delete an existing alert. On the Billing Configuration practice template, expand the Alerts panel. Select an alert from the grid. The details of selected alert appear in the corresponding fields below the grid. To edit the alert, make changes to the text in the fields as needed, and then click Update. To delete the alert, click Delete. Note: The alert appears based on the primary insurance listed on the encounter. If there is an alert configured for all payers within a financial class (*), this overrides what the individual payer has configured for that chief complaint. Parent topic: Alerts Configuration

Add an Alert

You can add one or more alerts to a patient in NextGen® Enterprise. You can identify high risk patients and send an alert without having to open the individual charts. In NextGen Care® Population Management Hub, do one of the following: From the Cohorts tab, run a report. From the My Lists tab, run a list. From the Appointment Book tab, filter the patients. The patient list appears in the patient grid. In the patient grid, select the check box next to the patient's name. Select Alert. The Add/Edit Alerts window opens. Note: If multiple patients are selected from the patient grid, then the Pregnancy alert is not available on the Add/Edit Alerts window. The Pregnant check box is available in the Add/Edit Alerts window only if the selected patient is a female. Select the check box available next to the alert you want to send.
