Archive Messages and Requests

Manage Your Responses
If you are responding to a message that is sent to a distribution list you belong to, you can reply only after you take ownership of the message. Note: You can see all communication sent and received through the NextGen® PxP Portal for a selected patient in one view with the Patient-Specific View button. On the NextGen® Enterprise PM main toolbar, select the Mailbox button. From the list in the upper-right corner of the window, select Patient Portal. Important: The Patient Portal option does not appear in the list if your NextGen® PxP Portal license is not available or has expired. A list of patient portal folders appears in the left pane. A list of messages appears in the right pane. Do one the following actions: To reply to the sender, select Reply. The To field fills in with the name of the person from whom you received the message. If the patient sent you the message, the patient's name appears. To reply to the patient, on Reply, select the arrow next to Reply, and then select To P

Common Tasks for NextGen® PxP Portal Messages
The following features are common across all types of messages: Forward messages or requests. Create tasks for messages or requests Manage messages of restricted patients Forward Messages and Requests You can forward every type of communication available in NextGen® PxP Portal Assign Tasks There are several ways to assign a task to a NextGen® PxP Portal message or request. Manage Your Responses You can use any of the different reply functions on messages that patients send through NextGen® PxP Portal. Manage Messages from Excluded Patients If a patient is included in your exclusion list in System Administrator, you cannot read or view any messages from that patient. Manually Refresh the Portal Inbox You can manually update (refresh) your mailbox to view the latest NextGen® PxP Portal messages. Archive Messages and Requests You can move NextGen® PxP Portal items to an archived folder, but cannot delete them from the system. Parent topic: Managing Communication Messages

Set Up NextGen® PxP Portal Refresh Rate Preferences
You can set up the refresh rate preference for the Patient Portal tab. From the Patient Portal menu, select Preferences. The Patient Portal Preferences window opens. On Patient Portal Preferences window, select one of the following: To refresh the unread messages when the Patient Portal tab is open, select On Window/Tab Open. This option refreshes the messages when the Patient Portal tab is the current tab when you open the Workflow Module window or the tab you select after the window is open. Note: This option is not intended to refresh more than one tab simultaneously. To refresh more than one tab simultaneously, use the timer preference. To refresh the unread messages after the specified time, select Every X Minute(s). This option refresh the unread messages whenever the Workflow Module window opens. The timer runs regardless of whether the Patient Portal tab is opened. Select arrow to enter the refresh interval in minutes. Use integers only. Select OK. Parent topic: NextGen PxP Por

Delete NextGen® PxP Portal Messages and Requests
Open Inbox. Select a message or request and select Remove to delete. A confirmation window opens. Select Yes to delete the item. The item is sent to the corresponding Archived folder (Inbox, Appointments, etc.). Note: You cannot delete items in an Archived folder.
