When you read, forward, release, or reassign messages, you can leave internal notes for your co-workers that are not added to the patient's chart.

| Add a note while reading a message | On the Patient Portal Message window, select Add Comments, and enter your note in the Enter commentwindow. |
| Add a note while releasing a message | When you select Release, the Comments window opens. Enter your note, and release the message. |
| Add a note while reassigning a message | When you select Reassign, the Select routing policywindow opens. After selecting a routing policy, enter your note in the Message section. |
| Add a note while forwarding a message | On the Select users and groups window, add your note in Comment. |
| Add a note to a message in the inbox view | In the inbox view, select the message which you want to add a note to, and in the Comments |
The note you and other users add appears in the History section of the Comments or Patient Portal Message window.
