Add a Standard Response in a Message

Standard responses enable you to create reusable messages with placeholders for variable data. For example, you can add a reusable response that includes the patient's name and address for a medication renewal. There are two types of standard responses:
  • Practice-defined standard responses (created in File Maintenance). For information about creating practice-defined standard responses, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Configuration Guide for NextGen® PxP Portal.
  • User-defined standard responses (created in NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM while responding to various patient requests or while composing a message).
  1. On the Enter comment window or on any window that provides an option to enter comments, perform one of the following:
    • To add a user-defined standard response, on the Standard Responses panel, under Customized, double-click a standard response.
    • To add a practice-defined standard response, on the Standard Responses panel, under Practice Defined, double-select a standard response.
The message opens in the comment area.

  2. If required, edit the response.
  3. Select OK to close the Enter comment window.
  4. Complete your message/request as needed.
