Adding a Recipient

When you compose, reply to, or forward a NextGen® PxP Portal message, you can: Add patients as recipients. Add the original patient when replying to a forwarded message. Add practice users and/or groups as recipients. Add patients as recipients using the results generated from a memorized report. Add patients as recipients using the results from the Report/Report Server filter. Add Patients as Recipients You have choices of how to select a patient name when composing or replying to a NextGen® PxP Portal message. Set the Original Patient As the Recipient in Replies You must select a recipient on a forwarded message that originally came from a patient. Set Practice Users or Groups as Recipients You can communicate with coworkers through the NextGen® PxP Portal. Set Patients as Recipients from a Memorized Report

Bulk messages can be sent to care managers and patients with a completed or pending enrollment status. From the main toolbar, select the Inbox button. The Workflow window opens. Select Compose. The Patient Portal Message window opens. Select the arrow on the To button, and then select Add Report.The Memorized Reports window opens. Note: The Memorized Reports window displays only the NextGen® Enterprise EHR reports and not those generated from NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select an option from Report Type. Double-click a report to open it.The preferences for the selected report are displayed. Optional: Select Patient from Settings List and make any necessary changes to the filters. Note: The Report Filter option only the NextGen® Enterprise EHR reports, and not the NextGen® Enterprise PM reports. Select OK.The patients found are added in the To field. Optional: To view the list of patients included in the report, double-click the report results in To. Close the Patient Set window and complet

Add Recipients from a Report Filter

The Patient Portal Message window opens. Select the arrow on the To button, and then select Report Filter.The report preferences open. Under Settings List, select Patient. Select Enable Patient Portal Status Filter, and perform one of the following: To generate a report of patients who are not enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, select Non Patient Portal Patients. To generate a report of all patients based on the enrollment status, do the following, select Patient Portal Patients, and then select a status from Patient Portal Patient Status. Select all other preferences as needed, and then select OK.The patients found based on the reports results are added to the To field. Set Practice Users or Groups as Recipients

From the main toolbar, select the Inbox button. The Workflow window opens. Select Compose. The Patient Portal Message window opens. Select the arrow on the To button, and then select Add User(s).The Select users and groups window opens. Enter the name of the user or group, and then select Search. Set Patients as Recipients from a Memorized Report

Bulk messages can be sent to care managers and patients with a completed or pending enrollment status. On the NextGen® Enterprise PM main toolbar, select the Mailbox button. From the list in the upper-right corner of the window, select Patient Portal. Important: The Patient Portal option does not appear in the list if your NextGen® PxP Portal license is not available or has expired. A list of patient portal folders appears in the left pane. A list of messages appears in the right pane. Select the New Message button.. The Patient Portal Message window opens. Select the arrow on the To button, and then select Add Report.The Memorized Reports window opens. Compose and Send Messages

Before you begin Ensure that the Patient Messaging online solution is active in Site Generator so that messages sent from NextGen® Enterprise applications can reach the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal mailbox. When you or your co-workers initiate a message, the Category column displays Practice Initiated in the Outbox grid view. For messages that are sent as replies to practice initiated messages, the Category column is blank. Remember to set the Do Not Reply option if you do not want the recipients to be able to respond. From the main toolbar, select the Inbox button. The Workflow window opens. Select Compose. The Patient Portal Message window opens. Enter the Subject of the message.
