Allergies

The Allergies grid displays the patient’s allergies and reactions entered through the Medication Allergies module. The Reviewed check box above the grid indicates that allergies have been reviewed. The None check box is automatically selected if no allergies are listed. Delete Medication Allergy

Before you begin Ensure the encounter that you select to open Medication Allergies module is unlocked. If you need to delete a medication allergy assigned to a locked encounter, you must create either a custom or a new encounter and add a new allergy with the modifications to an existing allergy. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Medication Allergies module for the selected patient. Select the allergy you want to delete from the module grid and select Delete. The Delete Record window opens displaying the confirmation message. Do one of the following: You can select Delete and mark item "Inactive" if you want to make the allergy inactive. You can select Delete and mark item "Entered in error" for an allergy that is incorrectly added by provider. Select Yes to delete the allergy. Select No or close the window to cancel the deletion. You can resolve a medication allergy to indicate the patient does not have the allergy. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Medication Allergies module. Medication Allergies Module

The Medication Allergies module helps you to identify the potential for adverse drug reactions. Use this module to enter and retrieve any currently known adverse reaction to substances that may put the patient at risk if the patient exposed to similar substances in the future. Some food allergies like red dye or shellfish can be documented in this module, but a pollen allergy such as ragweed is a medical condition and would be better documented in the Problems module. Ragweed does not present a risk for an adverse drug reaction. Open the Medication Allergies Module You can open the Medication Allergies module from Quick Buttons panel in NextGen Enterprise EHR.
