Manage PAQ Functionality for Practice Locations
On the
Miscellaneous Configuration
practice template, expand the
Submit & Signoff
panel.
To enable the PAQ sign-off for practice locations, do the following in the
Location Allowing PAQ Signoff
section.
To enable the PAQ sign-off for a location, select the desired location in the location grid.
The check mark appears in the
Allow
column for the selected location.
To enable the PAQ sign-off for all locations, select the
Select All
check box.
The check mark appears in the
Allow
column for all locations.
To disable the PAQ sign-off for practice locations, do the following in the
Location Allowing PAQ Signoff
section.
To disable the PAQ sign-off for a location, select the desired location with the check mark in the location grid.
The check mark disappears from the
Allow
column for the selected location.
To disable the PAQ sign-off for all locations, clear the
Select All
check box.
The check mark disappears from the
Allow
column for all locations.

Managing Submit & Signoff Rights
You can manage the following submit and sign-off rights in the Submit & Signoff panel of the IORTS Miscellaneous Configuration practice template. Managing Surgery Orders
You can add, revise, cancel, and reschedule the surgery orders. You can use the Place Order panel on the Surgery Sched template to manage surgery orders. After you document the surgery details in other panels on the Surgery Sched template, you can place surgery orders in the Place Order panel. You can also cancel, revise, and reschedule existing surgery orders. Place Order panel on the Surgery Scheduling template The provider can use the Signed/Approved by Surgeon check box in the Place Order panel to review and sign off a surgery order. When the provider signs off the order, the order details are sent to the Coordinator and Surgery Coding templates. The following conditions apply to the Signed/Approved by Surgeon check box and the associated fields. If the provider approval queue (PAQ) sign-off is enabled for the surgery location, the Signed/Approved by Surgeon check box and the associated fields are not displayed, and the surgery order document is automatically generated when you pla

Sign off as the Supervising Provider
When PAQ is enabled for the practice location on the Miscellaneous Configuration template, documents sent for signoff go to the supervising provider’s PAQ. The supervising provider can launch the patient’s chart from the Task to review the visit. When PAQ is disabled for the practice location on the Miscellaneous Configuration template, a task is sent to the supervising provider to review the templates for signoff. Finalizing a Patient Visit
You can enter a patient's visit details and today's diagnoses, and apply diagnosis codes to procedures to submit charges and finalize the visit. You can use the Finalize Visit template to do the following: Perform dictation Document the visit type and time Add or remove today's diagnoses Document carbon copies information Apply appropriate diagnosis codes to the procedures Submit charges Send the current encounter to the supervising provider Sign off as the supervising provider Generate letters and reports Lock the current encounter Finalize Visit template You can configure the following for the Finalize Visit template. Sign off PAQ Items with Actions
When you sign off a pending PAQ item, you can also execute saved actions or create new actions. You can save the actions for future use. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Workflow module. Select the Provider Approval Queue tab. In the Pending tab, select an item from the list. In the Items list, you can select or deselect all the items together using Select All check box. If you make a selection in either Pending or Rejected tab, the selection is saved for the other tab. You have to make separate selection for History tab. A preview of the item appears in the viewing pane. Information about the selected item appears beneath the list of items in the left pane. To display lab results in a different view, select one of the following beneath the results: Formatted Results Grid results Documents, images, or URLs To view the item in full on your screen, select Full Screen in the Workflow toolbar. Save an Action Set for PAQ Signoff with Actions
You can save the follow-up actions that are used for signing off pending PAQ items. Action sets are specific to the logged-on user. For practices that have clinical staff as delegates for the PAQ, these users can have their own action sets that apply across any provider’s PAQ that they are accessing. Action sets built in the PAQ are also available under the Actions list in the Workflow window Clinical Tasking tab for PAQ Action items. When you create an action set, you may also want to consider next-step actions to use on incoming tasks. Access the Workflow module. Select the Provider Approval Queue tab. To save the action set for from the list, in the Pending tab, select the item. Select Sign-off with Actions in the toolbar.
