Today's Internal Radiology Order Grid

Today's Internal Radiology Order grid displays all internal radiology orders placed in today's encounter, except cancelled orders. You can use the Add button to order radiology tests. The Edit button opens the Radiology Order Management template to document impressions and findings and update the order status. You can use the Radiology Dictated to indicate that you have transcribed Findings and Impressions. Mark Internal Radiology Orders as Performed and Interpreted

After you place internal radiology orders and perform a test, you can update the test details and mark the test is performed and interpreted. Open the Radiology Order Management template. The details of the order you selected for opening the Radiology Order Management template are displayed in their corresponding fields. To update a different order, you can filter the orders displayed in the grid, and then select the order. Optional: Select a modifier. If your practice uses a picture archiving and communication system (PACS), select PACS to open medical images and reports. Note: You can configure the PACS button and the automatic selection of the Interpreted checkbox in the General panel of the Radiology Configuration template. Submitting Charges for Radiology Orders

After performing radiology tests in your practice and documenting the details, you can submit charges for them. When you place an Internal Today order, the charges are automatically sent to the Finalize Visit template. For Internal Later orders, the charges are sent to the Finalize Visit template only if the order status is updated to Performed. External orders are performed and billed at an external facility. By default, when you place an Internal Today or Internal Later order for a bilateral test, two separate codes (one for the left side and the other for the right side) are sent to the Finalize Visit template. You can configure financial classes and payers to accept a single code for bilateral tests by using the Bilateral Billing for Internal Orders panel in the Radiology Configuration template. Open the Radiology Orders Management Template

You can open the Radiology Order Management template to update order details and change the status for all types of radiology orders. Open the Home template. To open the Radiology Order Management template from the Single Order template, do the following: Select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Single Order. Select a radiology order from the Today's Orders grid, and then select Edit. To open the Radiology Order Management template from the Radiology Order template, do the following: Select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Radiology Order. Select an option for Performed. Select an order from the Radiology Orders grid, and then select Edit. Radiology Order Statuses

You can view the status of radiology orders for tracking and managing them. Status Description Ordered Indicates that the radiology test is ordered but not performed. When you place an order in the Single Order or Radiology Order template, the order is created with the Ordered status. For Internal Today orders, the charges are sent to the Finalize Visit template when the order is placed. Scheduled Indicates that the radiology test is scheduled. Note: This status is not applicable to Internal Today orders. Performed Indicates that the radiology test is performed. For Internal Later orders, the charges are sent to the Finalize Visit template when the status is updated to Performed. Note: This status is not applicable to External orders. Interpreted Indicates that the radiology films are reviewed, and the impressions and findings are documented. Note: This status is not applicable to External orders.
