Create a Diagnosis Group
On the
Specialty Diagnosis Group Config
practice template, expand the
Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes
panel.
Under the
Add Diagnosis Group
grid, enter the Diagnosis group name and Description in the corresponding fields.
Select an age group:
Adult/All
or
Peds
(pediatric).
Select the
Active
check box.
Click
Add/Update
.
The newly created diagnosis group appears in the
Add Diagnosis Group
grid.

Copy a Diagnosis Group
You can copy an existing group to create a new diagnosis group. When you copy an existing diagnosis group to create a new group, the diagnosis codes associated with existing group also gets associated with the new group. On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config practice template, expand the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. From the Add Diagnosis Group grid, select the desired record. The corresponding details appear in the fields below grid. Enter the new diagnosis group name. You can also update other details, however it is not mandatory. Click Copy. Assign Diagnosis Codes to a Diagnosis Group
On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config practice template, expand the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. From the Add Diagnosis Group grid, select the desired record. Note: To find a newly created group, select the View Dx groups created/modified today option above the grid. The name of selected diagnosis group appears above the Assigned Diagnosis Codes grid. In the Assign Diagnosis Codes to Group section: In the Description field, enter the few characters of desired diagnosis description. For Type, select a code type: ICD-9 or ICD-10. Click Search. The diagnosis codes matching with selected search criteria appear in the Search Results grid. Select the desired diagnosis code from the search results and click Right arrow icon. The assigned diagnosis code appears in the Assigned Diagnosis Codes grid. To move all the codes from Search Results grid to Assigned Diagnosis Codes grid, click Move all icon. Remove a Diagnosis Code from a Diagnosis Group
You can remove a diagnosis code from an assigned diagnosis group. On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config practice template, expand the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. From the Add Diagnosis Group grid, select the desired record. All the assigned codes to selected group appear in the Assigned Diagnosis Codes grid. Select the desired code. Create Diagnosis Groups
You can create diagnosis groups, which are used on medical record templates for documenting patient's assessment. On the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template, expand the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel. Enter the diagnosis group name and description in their corresponding fields in the Add Diagnosis Group section. Select one of the following options for age group. Adult/All. Select this option if the diagnosis to be added is for adult patients. Peds. Select this option if the diagnosis to be added is for pediatric patients. Select the Active checkbox. Select Add/Update. Managing Diagnosis Groups and Codes
You can create diagnosis groups and assign them to the diagnosis groups in the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel of the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config practice template. The NextGen® Orthopedic Suite comes with some pre-configured diagnosis groups. Managing Diagnosis Groups and Codes
You can manage diagnosis groups for documenting patient's assessment and manage diagnosis codes in a specific diagnosis group. You can use the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel of the Specialty Diagnosis Group Config template to create diagnosis groups and assign diagnosis codes to the diagnosis groups. The diagnosis groups are used for documenting the details of the patient's assessment on medical record templates. However, there are some pre-configured diagnosis groups available for you in the Manage Diagnosis Groups and Codes panel.
