Add Patient Education Items to the Encounter
The
Patient Education
template displays practice-specific patient education materials.
Click the
Patient Education
link on the
Home
template.
The
Patient Education
template opens with items in the grid.
Select an education item from the grid.
The name moves to an open field to the right.
Repeat for all education items that you want to open.
Click the
Launch All
button.
Your user name with date and timestamp fill the Signoff fields.

Edit Patient Education Documents
The Patient Education grid in the Today's Orders panel displays the patient education documents that are added to a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Today’s Orders panel. Select Patient Education To edit patient education documents, select Patient Education. The Patient Education Browser window opens. Note: You can use the browser to add or edit the list of patient education documents. Edit Patient Education Documents
The Patient Education grid in the Today's Orders panel displays the patient education documents that are added to a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Today’s Orders panel. Select Patient Education To edit patient education documents, select Patient Education. The Patient Education Browser window opens. Note: You can use the browser to add or edit the list of patient education documents. Issuing Patient Education Documents
The Patient Education panel contains the education documents of a patient that are added to the patient's chart. You can print education documents for a patient by printing them or send the documents to the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. When you save a patient education document to an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR moves the document to the Patient Education grid in the Today’s Order panel. Issuing Patient Education Documents
The Patient Education panel contains the education documents of a patient that are added to the patient's chart. Make Education Documents Available to Patients
From the Checkout tab, expand the Patient Education panel. Select an education document in the grid. Patient Education Do one of the following: To print a document, click Print. To save a document to an encounter, click Save to Encounter. To send an education document to NextGen® PxP Portal, click Send to Patient Portal. To access the patient education browser for more education resources, click Browser. Note: To remove a document from the cart, click Remove and then click Remove. Cardiology Checkout Staff Workflow
After completing the intake staff and provider workflow, the front office staff initiates and completes the patient checkout process on the Checkout template. The Checkout template contains the following sections. Today's Orders Lists all orders that have been placed on the current day. Given to Patient/Verified Displays items verified or given to patients. Patient Education Displays the education documents to be issued to patients. Edit Orders You can view, verify, and process orders that have been placed for a patient. Process Lab Orders You can process Lab orders on the Checkout template. Create Requisition for Orders You can create a requisition document for a selected order type on the Checkout template. Create Patient Plan Summary Documents You can create a patient plan summary on the Checkout template.
