Create Patient Plan Summary Documents

You can create a patient plan summary on the Checkout template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Click Given to Patient/Verified panel. Issuing Patient Education Documents

The Patient Education panel contains the education documents of a patient that are added to the patient's chart. You can print education documents for a patient by printing them or send the documents to the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. When you save a patient education document to an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR moves the document to the Patient Education grid in the Today’s Order panel. Make Education Documents Available to Patients

From the Checkout tab, expand the Patient Education panel. Select an education document in the grid. Patient Education Do one of the following: To print a document, click Print. To save a document to an encounter, click Save to Encounter. To send an education document to NextGen® PxP Portal, click Send to Patient Portal. To access the patient education browser for more education resources, click Browser. Note: To remove a document from the cart, click Remove and then click Remove. Edit Orders

You can view, verify, and process orders that have been placed for a patient. The order types include labs, diagnostics, referrals, office services, surgical procedures, follow-ups, medications, patient education, patient instruction, physical therapy, and immunizations. Note: The numbers beside each order type in the left pane indicate the number of orders in the queue. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Click the Today's Orders panel. From the left pane, select an order type. Today's Orders In the grid, select a row. To view more details about the selected order or to edit the order, click Edit. Note: Based on the order type you select on the left pane, the application displays the corresponding additional options. The Patient Education grid in the Today's Orders panel displays the patient education documents that are added to a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Today’s Orders panel. Select Patient Education To edit patient education documents, select Patient Education. The Patient Education Browser window opens. Note: You can use the browser to add or edit the list of patient education documents. Adding Patient Education Documents

You can use the Patient Education Browser window to search for and add education documents to the patient's cart. You can open the Patient Education Browser window through Patient Education in the navigation bar. Patient Education Browser You can open Patient Education Browser and add patient education documents to the patient's cart in the Today's Orders and Patient Education panels available on the Checkout template. For more information on how to use Patient Education Browser, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Patient Education Resources Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. When you add an education document to a patient's cart, NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically adds a red indicator to the Patient Education button, which denotes that the patient education documents are available in the patient's cart for processing.
