Create Requisition for Orders

You can create a requisition document for a selected order type on the Checkout template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Click the Today's Orders panel. In the left pane, select an order type. For example, Labs or Diagnostics. The orders grid appears. In the grid, select the order and click Requisition. Process Lab Orders

You can process Lab orders on the Checkout template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Click the Today's Orders panel. Click the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link. The Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template opens. Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders Select the Labs or Radiology option. Click the Vendor field and select the appropriate option from the list. In the Today's Orders grid, select the required row. The Include Selected Order arrow appears. To move the order to the Orders for Selected Vendor section, click the Include Selected Order arrow. To include the order in the Orders module, click Process/Submit. Click Save & Close. Edit Patient Education Documents

The Patient Education grid in the Today's Orders panel displays the patient education documents that are added to a patient encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Today’s Orders panel. Select Patient Education To edit patient education documents, select Patient Education. The Patient Education Browser window opens. Note: You can use the browser to add or edit the list of patient education documents. Cardiology Checkout Staff Workflow

After completing the intake staff and provider workflow, the front office staff initiates and completes the patient checkout process on the Checkout template. The Checkout template contains the following sections. Today's Orders Lists all orders that have been placed on the current day. Given to Patient/Verified Displays items verified or given to patients. Patient Education Displays the education documents to be issued to patients. Edit Orders You can view, verify, and process orders that have been placed for a patient. Process Lab Orders You can process Lab orders on the Checkout template. Insert an Order Control Field

You can use an order control field on a template in two ways: Insert the field on a Medical Records template to allow a user to view or enter lab, radiology, or immunizations order or result information in NextGen® Enterprise EHR at run time. Insert the field on a Practice or Practice Popup template to allow a user to manage all patient orders across a practice and update practice order filters in NextGen® Enterprise EHR at run time. Note: You can also use the Patient Lab Order trigger to order lab or radiology tests. You can use both the Patient Lab Order trigger and an order control field on a template. When the trigger is executed, the information displayed from the order control field can be refreshed to include the new lab or radiology order. Manage Orders for All Patients across a Practice

To process multiple patients within your practice, you can create an Orders Management Controls practice template in Template Editor. You can then access this template in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR as a Practice Template to view, manage, or send orders for multiple patients in their practice. This information is drawn from the Orders module. The orders listed and the data displayed on each order line are based on the selected predefined system or private user or practice-level filter. The first column displays an icon that identifies the order type (lab, radiology, or immunizations). Icons that identify recurring and future orders display in the second column. You can select the icon to view the order schedule. Practice filters may display other information. The Orders Management Control practice template top toolbar contains commands for the actions you can perform on each order.
