Document Counseling in the Billable Visit
You can document total time spent with patient either by selecting the start and end time, or by entering the total time. On the BV Counseling template, do the following to record the counseling time: Enter the Start time. You can click the clock icon to record the current time or enter the time manually. Enter the End time by clicking the clock or enter the time. The Time Requirements for E&M coding are listed next to the time fields. Alternatively, you can enter the total encounter time by clicking in the Total Encounter Time field and selecting the total time from a picklist. The application calculates the total time automatically. Enter Verbal Counseling. Enter Coordination of Care. Enter the Printed Materials given to the patient. Click the E&M Key button at the bottom of the template. Documenting Billable Visit Counseling
You can document the additional counseling time and its associated details for a patient. You can use the BV Counseling template to document additional counseling time spent with a patient. The Visit Type is automatically selected based on the data entered on the Billable Visit template. You can also document the details of the counseling given to the patient. Selecting the Counseling Override check box enables you to override the calculated evaluation and management (E&M) code for counseling and enter the total encounter time to determine the E&M level. BV Counseling template If the 2023 E&M coding guidelines are applicable, the Counseling Override check box does not appear on the BV Counseling template, and the Total Encounter Time field is made available to enter the values. Access the Non-Billable Visit Template
You can access the Non Billable Visit template from the Home template. On the Home template, click the Non-Billable tab. The Navigation window opens. Select Non Billable Visit from the list, and click OK. The Non Billable Visit template opens.
