Low Vision Exam Visit

A new visit type, Low Vision Exam, enables Optometry practices to document the patient's low vision history, the complete low vision exam, and recommended low vision devices. When you select the Optometry specialty and the Low Vision Exam visit type, a seven-tab workflow opens and includes the following low vision-specific tabs: LV History LV Exam LV Devices After you have finished documenting the low vision exam details, you can complete the encounter documentation with the standard workflows for assessment and plan, submitting charges, and patient checkout. To better serve the Optometry market, the Optometry specialty has been added to the NextGen® Ophthalmic Suite. Practices with Optometrists may choose to document their technician and provider exams using this workflow as it is focused on eye care specific to this specialty. The following visit types are included for the Optometry specialty: Low Vision Exam Office Visit Post-Op Exam Well Vision Exam The optometry workflow is fully integrated into the ophthalmology workflow and Optical Management application, providing a seamless and efficient experience for all users. Optometry Office Visit Optometrists can document their standard office visit using the Office Visit visit type. The new Skills/Motility - OPT template is available when you select the Office Visit visit type for the Optometry specialty. You can review and add findings for Visual Acuity and Lensometry/Refraction.
