Default and Preferred Templates

Setting a default template and creating a preferred template list helps users to quickly navigate to their preferred starting point within the system. Both features are configured in User Preferences.

• Default template- If you work with the same specialty each time you log into the system, you can configure your system to open that specialty's Home Page template automatically whenever you open a patient chart and create a new encounter.
• Preferred template list- You can create a list of preferred templates that you often use so that you do not have to search through the entire list of templates in the system when you want to open one of them using Template Launcher. A list of preferred templates is particularly helpful to users who work with more than one specialty.
