Begin a New Ophthalmic Encounter

When a patient arrives, intake staff can open the patient chart and the Home Page - OPH template to begin documenting the new encounter for Ophthalmology and Optometry. You can review historical patient data and update allergies and medications. Open the Home Page - OPHtemplate. The template opens with the specialty and visit type defaulted to Ophthalmology and Office Visit. To change the specialty, click the Specialty field, and select a value from the list. To change the visit type, click the Visit Type field, and select a value from the list. Review the information in the following panels: General- review or update the general patient information Health Monitor- review or update the dates of the most recent testing and procedures Historic HPI Impression/Plan Summary- view the history of the patient's impression or plan information Visual Acuity- view the pateint's visual acuity measurements from previous encounters Orders- view and manage orders IOP- view the pateint's intraocular p

Access Home Page - OPH

Open a patient record. Click Templates on the History toolbar. The Select Template window appears. Select the Medical Records tab. In the Show section, select the All option to display the full list of templates. Select Home Page - OPH and click OK. Contagion Risk

You can document to contagion exposure for patients and their travel to areas at high risk for such exposure. The Contagion Risk link is available on the template header of every template (for example, Home Page, Intake, Histories, SOAP, Finalize, and Checkout). An indicator is displayed next to the Contagion Risk link to indicate whether the patient is at been exposed to contagions. You can view historical details for the risk of exposures to contagions and a patient exposure log on the data grids of the Contagion Exposure template. You can add, update, remove, or deactivate contagion exposure details in the Contagion Exposure History grid when working on an unlocked encounter. You cannot modify information in a locked encounter. The contagions details you entered on the Contagions Exposure template are automatically flagged until you deactivate. Deactivate Contagion Risk Records

You can indicate that a particular type of contagion risk is inactive. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On a patient encounter, open any of the standard visit templates. (for example, the Intake template). On the template header, select the Contagion Risk link. The Contagion Exposure template opens. Contagion Exposure Note: The exposure fields are disabled until you select an exposure in the exposure list. Select the type of exposure from the Contagion Exposure History grid. Select the Deactivate check box and select Update. The flag icon disappears in the "*" column and the badge count next to the Contagion Risk link on the template header decreases. Note: You cannot modify a record that is deactivated in the Contagion Exposure template. Parent topic: Contagion Risk

Document the Contagion Risk

You can document the contagion risk. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On a patient encounter, open any of the standard visit templates. (for example, the Intake template). On the template header, select the Contagion Risk link. The Contagion Exposure template opens. Contagion Exposure Note: The exposure fields are disabled until you select an exposure from the exposure list. Select one of the following: If you want to display all the exposure details entered in the Contagion Risk template in the encounter document, select Detailed document. If you reviewed and updated any patient exposure details or exposure risk, select Reviewed, updated. If you reviewed the patient exposure details of the patient and made no changes, select Reviewed, no changes. Note: The Last update/detailed doc field indicates when the exposure details are last reviewed and updated. Select the type of contagion from the Exposure list. NextGen® Enterprise EHR automatically updates the Exposure and Incubation fields. No
