Add Lab and Radiology Tests to Orders

Before you begin

To place orders with NextGen® Compendium in NextGen® Mobile, you must configure Use NextGen Compendium for New Orders in File Maintenance.
To use favorite tests in NextGen® Mobile, you must configure favorite tests for the practice and provider in File Maintenance.
For more information on configuring the favorite tests and NextGen® Compendium, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module Setup Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR.

You can search for and select laboratory and radiology tests from the provider, practice, and master list tests and add them to an order.

Open NextGen® Mobile.
Open the Patient Chart view for your patient.
Select Today's Visit.

Note: The + Add option next to the Orders is unavailable for Non-NextGen users and for the locked encounter.
If the selected encounter is not a log on provider encounter, the system displays an encounter mismatch warning message stating that the selected encounter is from another provider, create an encounter, or select another encounter.
Select + Add next to the Orders.
The Select Order Type view opens displaying the Laboratory, and Radiology order types.
Select Laboratory or Radiology.

Note: After upgrade when you select an order type for the first-time, the Ambient Orders view opens displaying all the performing entities selected by default. To view a particular performing entity test suggestions, you can turn off the other entities.

The New Order view opens displaying the patient demographic, clinical, and performing entity information.
Optional: To add tests from NextGen® Compendium, turn on Use NextGen Compendium.

Note: Use NextGen Compendium is automatically turned on when the To be determined performing entity is selected. You can turn on Use NextGen Compendium for other performing entities by deleting the added tests of an order.
Select next to the test type.
The respective view opens displaying the provider favorite tests by default.
Search for and select tests from the provider, practice, and master list, and then select Done.
You can search by entering the first three letters of a test name. You can select Continue Search on Server to view additional tests from the master list.

The selected tests with the mapped diagnoses appear in the New Order view.
Optional: To add a site for the radiology test, select + Add next to the corresponding test Site, and then select the site from the Select Site view.
The selected site appears next to Site under the corresponding test.
Note: You can also add side for the test.
Optional: To add a test comment, select next to the corresponding test, enter your comment, and then select Ok.
The comment is linked to the respective test.
Note: The test comment supports up to 250 characters.
Optional: To add clinical information, select Clinical Information, enter the order information, and then select Ok.
The clinical information is linked to the order.
Note: The clinical information comment supports up to 250 characters.
