View Encounters for a Patient

Patient encounters record any interaction between you and the patient or patient’s representative. Encounters can be a scheduled visit, a phone call, a video chat, an email, or an unscheduled visit to a practice.

If you are a NextGen clinic user with appropriate permissions, you can use NextGen® Mobile to do the following:

  • View the encounters for a patient saved in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  • Create encounters and send to NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  1. Open NextGen® Mobile.
  2. On the menu bar, select Schedule.
    The Schedule view opens.
  3. Select the patient.
    The Patient Chart window opens.
  4. Select the Encounter field.
    The Patient Encounters window displays a list of existing patient encounters.

    If available, each entry shows the day and date of the encounter, the provider, and the location. Lock icon indicates that the encounter is locked.
