Refill Medications

In NextGen® Mobile, the refill requests appear on the Refills view. You cannot submit refills for controlled substances medications with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) class codes as C1 and C2. Whereas C3, C4, and C5 medications can be submitted for up to five refills per transaction.
  1. In NextGen® Mobile, open the Hub module.
  2. Select Refill Requests.
    The Refills view opens listing the refill requests.

    By default, the list displays the oldest to newest requests with the oldest on top of the list. Select Oldest to reverse the order.

  3. In the Refills view, locate the patient and medication that you plan to refill.
    The selected entry must be marked with Matched Refill.
  4. Select the patient entry.
    The Refill Request view opens displaying the quantity and unit of measurement (UOM) of medication.

  5. Select Approve.
    The Approve view opens.
  6. Enter the number of refills allowed.
  7. To add a non-clinical note to the pharmacy, select Add note to pharmacy, and enter a note in the field.
  8. Select Confirm to confirm your approval.
    If the DUR Alert view opens, select Reason to select a reason to enable the medication, and select Allow.

    The RxReview view opens for non controlled substances medication approval and the RxVerification view opens for controlled substances medication approval.

  9. Do one of the following:
    • To send a non CS medication refill request, select Send in Rx Review.
    • To send a CS medication refill request, you must use any of the following authentication methods.
      • Symantec™ VIP Token
      • IdenTrust Mobile Authentication Service (MAS)
    A message appears stating that the refill approval is confirmed.
  10. To search for a refill, select Search icon, and then enter your search criteria.
    The corresponding refills appear.
