Viewing Allergies Related to Vaccines

You can view allergy information for the vaccines that are ordered for a patient. On the MICS Immunizations template, in the Immunization Administration panel, you can view the allergies documented in the Medication Allergies module for the patient. To view the details of patient's documented allergies when placing the immunization order, refer to the Allergy section next to the Immunization Orders grid. View CDC Immunization Schedules

You can view Center for Disease Control (CDC) immunization schedules for a patient. On the MICS Immunizations template, expand the Immunization Administration panel. Select View all Immunizations button below the Immunization Orders grid. The Immunization Schedules page of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention website opens. Documenting Vaccine Administration

You can document details of vaccines that need to be administered to a patient. On the MICS Immunizations template, in the Immunization Administration panel, you can document administration details of vaccines that are ordered for the patient. In the Immunization Orders grid, you can view the vaccine entry to verify that an order is placed through the Orders module for the vaccine to be administered. You can document basic information for a vaccine manually or by scanning the bar code. After you enter the basic information, you can either waste the vaccine or add additional information before submitting charges. Document Additional Immunization Details

You can document additional immunization details before you submit charges. On the MICS Immunizations template, expand the Immunization Administration panel. Select the Consent given by field, and select who has given consent from the list. Note: You can enter the value in this field even if the patient is an adult. Enter the additional immunization details. Document the patient response to the immunization in the Patient Response section. Note: You can document patent response at the time of administration or before submitting charges. Select Add/Update. The additional immunization details are saved to the Immunization Orders grid. Document Vaccines as Not Administered

You can document vaccines that are ordered today as not administered to a patient. On the MICS Immunizations template, expand the Immunization Administration panel. Select one of the following options to view the required order in the Immunization Orders grid: Today's Orders Prior Pending Orders Select the required order from the Immunization Orders grid. Select Not Administered. The MLTS Imm Not Admin window opens. Select the reason for not administering the vaccine, and select OK. Note: If you select the Other option, the Other Reason window opens. You can enter the reason in the blank field, and then select OK. The results are as follows: The Status field in the Immunization Orders grid is updated as Not Administered. In the Order Module and Immunization Ordering panel of the MICS Imms template, the status is updated as Not Administered for the corresponding dose column of the selected vaccine in the immunization grid. Documenting Immunization Administration Details

You can document the administration details of vaccines ordered for a patient. On the MICS Immunizations template, in the Immunization Administration panel, you can view the vaccines ordered for the patient, and document the administration details of vaccines. In the Immunization Administration panel, you can do the following: Open the website of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to view the immunization schedule for all immunizations Document vaccines administration, and the patient’s response View patient's allergies Document any ordered vaccines as not administered View the patient’s immunization history View CDC Immunization Schedules You can view Center for Disease Control (CDC) immunization schedules for a patient.
